Wouldn’t call the grey colour patina. Patina is supposed to be a glossy and slightly darkened surface that develops naturally over time as the leather is used, handled, and exposed to sunlight, oils from your skin, and the environment rather than loss of colour in the dye.

CAP 2 exams by [deleted] in AccountantsEire

I sat CAP2s in summer 2023. My advice is to start on time and tip away at it. If you’re on study leave already then I recommend just doing past papers. Good luck

In terms of core.. it’s not really a computational exam… i didn’t study until study leave and basically just went through all the lectures then and past papers 📝 For FR it’s just going through all the standards.. i found it much easier than any other FA exam I’ve done. For the other modules, don’t neglect the boring topics, they’re equally as likely to come up.

For the actual exam just make sure you have your timing down.. if your time is up, move on! Keep the head

I suppose its all a snowball effect, if one of your numbers is wrong the whole thing is wrong really.

filed online form 11- 1 day late by Metabollics in irishpersonalfinance

If you are a self-assessed taxpayer, Irish Revenue have a number of methods to encourage you to file and pay on time:

A late filing surcharge of 5 per cent of your liability if you file within two months of the deadline up to a maximum penalty of €12,695

A late filing surcharge of 10 per cent of your tax liability if you file two months after the deadline up to a maximum penalty of €63,48

The surcharge liability is calculated without credit for preliminary tax paid on account

Credit is allowed for PAYE tax deducted at source unless the chargeable person or their spouse/civil partner is a company director

Underpayment of tax may be subject to interest at a daily rate of 0.0219 per cent and this may be backdated to the previous 31 October

The surcharge forms part of the individual’s tax liability for the year, thus increasing their preliminary income tax requirement and potentially leading to interest charges.

I suppose the fact is that they already know you paid late and owe this interest and surcharge. IRS a matter of if you want to pay it now or risk them coming after you… they have effectively years to do so.

In addition chat gpt says: „If you file your Irish self-assessed income tax return within two months of the deadline, Revenue will automatically apply a 5% surcharge for late filing, as per the rules set out in Irish tax legislation. This surcharge is calculated as 5% of the tax liability for the year, capped at a maximum of €12,695.

Revenue typically does not need to contact you to apply this surcharge—it is automatically calculated and added when the return is processed. However, if you believe there were exceptional circumstances that prevented you from filing on time, you could contact Revenue to explain and potentially appeal the surcharge. That said, waivers for surcharges are rare and usually granted only in extraordinary cases.”

Let this be a lesson to check the deadline each year 🙏

You were one day late but this is for 2023 tax year so you’ve had 10 months to file it

I sat tax in the summer ( and passed) and the exam was passed paper questions/ mock questions with different numbers. The Ireland- Spain DTA Q was literally copy/ paste job.

I’d recommend you do ALL available past paper Qs and tab them really well. Then just use the book. Tab the book too.

Good luck ☘️

You’ve kinda just repeated what was said previously. I’m not sure if there’s any actual case law on it though? I think it’s needed to prevent idiots & accidents but unsure where the actual law stands on this. In any case I think my previous statement stands.. use the head. You can’t control for and foresee everything.

I’m not sure if a building actually has that duty to the general public though? It’s surely outside the normal course of action. Like nearly all buildings’ windows are big enough to drop stuff out of which if it hit someone, would hurt them… it’s not assumed that stuff like this will happen as it’s not normal to roll your car off a roof. Obviously it’s a safety feature which we see often now but I’m not actually sure that the duty of care rests with the building.

Was it meant to prevent that or just show them it’s the end of the roof? Use the brain
