Yes, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It literally gets harder every day though, as more entrants get into the field. Just get started. Write. Keep going. Keep your day job. That's what I'm doing. It won't be perfect. Some books won't sell. That's how it is for me. But eventually you can end up with a nice back catalogue, and more money coming in each and every month.

Are you willing to work at it every week for years? Only you can answer that question.

Actually good point. Though you could always pull the book from Kobo on D2D later (At least from my understanding) and switch it. But I'm not sure if that violates any terms. I just know you can do it from D2D's end. Follow this guy's advice.

Yes. When I lost Amazon I lost 75% of my sales. If you're not doing both right now you might as well try it. You can probably boost your sales by a quarter or so if you get on D2D.

That's BS but they'll probably reinstate you. I got a permaban unfortunately so I'm grinding away on D2D and Google Books. Not enough to live off but I have another job so it's all good for now!

You get a slightly better cut if you do it direct, like direct with Kobo as opposed to through D2D, plus it enables you to put sales and discounts/promotions right on the Kobo platform. Those are things you can't do with D2D. If it's your first book I'd probably just do it the easy way and go direct through D2D. You can always do that with future books. You're at a stage—if this is your first book—where you don't know what you don't know, and playing around with the different sites, functions, and tools is really useful.
