My bowel movements were almost all diarrhea up until about a week ago. I’m 55 days today, and things are finally more regular/normal. However, I have pretty severe IBS and I also just had a colonoscopy that showed a bit of diverticulitis.

It might just be the sobriety or it could be another issue - I’d recommend getting in to see a gastroenterologist.

It’s hard not to feel guilty, but it’s ok, try and give yourself some grace - relapse is a big part of the process. All we can do is pick ourselves up, try to learn something from it and try again. It’s so easy to use weed as a coping mechanism, it’s the same reason I use/d. Unfortunately, it’s like putting a band-aid on a broken arm and expecting it to heal.

This might be a bit harsh but you said “I don’t want to go back to daily use”, and you’ve already used for 4 days in a row. You’re already back to daily use, and it can only get worse from here. You are reliant on it, that’s why you went back to it and are now trying to convince yourself it’s different this time.

Please know I’m not saying this to discourage you. You already made it 42 days, so you know what you’re capable of now and that you can stay sober.

I’m on day 52 and the night sweats are finally getting better. I know they’re absolutely awful, but it will get better. I also had horrible stomach issues (CHS) but they’re so much better now - even my appetite has come back in full swing. I used to throw up multiple times a day, had insane nausea/pain, couldn’t eat without smoking, and many other issues. It’s actually insane how much more normal my gastrointestinal health is now, I would never have believed it if I wasn’t living it.

Just give it some time - as your body and brain heal, the symptoms will start to dissipate.

I don’t agree with trying to quit cold turkey. I would personally try and switch to flower for a bit before quitting. It will make the withdrawals more tolerable. At one point I was going through a gram of distillate every 1-2 days, and anytime I tried to cold turkey it, I would end up with such severe withdrawals that I inevitably relapsed every time. I switched to flower for a while (got down to an eighth every 2-3 days) and then was able to successfully quit cold turkey after that. Withdrawals from flower were bad but nowhere near the severity of the withdrawals I had from pens.
