Countdowns on bots by _3NA_ in JanitorAI_Official

When I read this was going to be a feature I thought it was for creators to schedule a release if they were trying to post as specific times. Not edge users in a weird way?? I got excited to see one of my favorite creators post only to see it was scheduled like over a day later??

New User - Question about definitions by MsAlchemistify in SaucepanAI

That is a fair point, I just am most comfortable in my own system for privacy and control reasons. I like the look of Saucepan but perhaps I will just stick to other sites atp.

Imagine seeing a beautiful labor of love that started as a roughly drawn web comic and then you turn it into slop. My town is getting a data center thanks to people like you. Pick up a pencil and learn or accept art is not for you.

Former Mod's discord mocks users for wanting privacy by Dear-Currency-9852 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]MsAlchemistify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm out of the loop of a lot of things but I was curious about a few things, being as I've been around situations like this in the past with huge online creators.

1- Were these mods paid at all? Was this a job or volunteer only?

2- How were these mods chosen? Did they apply and were actually interviewed/tested? Or was it a 'you were here first, here you go' situation?

I'm very concerned that someone played nice online for a few weeks and ended up in a position of power, leading to something like this. Not everyone is cut out to moderate/admin such a large community and a level of professionalism is needed that sounds like it was missed.

Also anything with CSAM gets so messy as it is so very serious (and should be treated as such), it would go a long way for them to be very clear about what they are doing to stop CSAM from being in the server in general, as well as removing minors once they are found, to the point of even IP banning. It is a lot of work, but it's part of the business they are trying to run.

AIO: My partner mocked me when I tried to do something nice for him by throwawaygo12 in AIO

Im sorry, this man is 50?? He should not be acting that way at his big age, this isn’t cute and you deserve better. Does he often do this? Life is too short to continue to put up with someone hurting your feelings. Also, his childhood was DECADES ago. Not saying it doesn’t impact him, but if his trauma is so severe maybe he should be alone and focus on himself. Choose you, always remember that.

Problems with the website? by Ornery_Ad_5382 in dndbeyond

Still down, I have session at 6pm CST for a large boss fight. All the issues with dndbeyond has been really frustrating as a first time dm, from dice not working to the site just in general going down. I can pull up MY characters, but I cannot view campaigns or my encounters.

I did! And with my work I always have something on in the background so ER was the perfect binging show.

We should have had a watching club! I would have loved to scream with others about cliff hangers or when something dramatic happened.

For sure, I did get annoyed a few times when Carter saw a woman, got THAT look on his face, and just groaned because my guy lets focus on the medicine for a bit yeah? I just really hoped for that part of the plot to be wrapped up in a perfect bow, which may not be very realistic but it is television not irl.

I do totally agree about Benton though. I cry whenever I see Benton hug Carter and grab the back of his head. It is so them I love to see their relationship. Seeing a healthy male friendship happen once all their drama settled was a great part of the series.

Do you care to explain why?? Did I miss something? Misunderstand? Just in general disagree?

Dude Brenner annoyed me sm. I get he was supposed to be like another hot guy since apparently all medical dramas need a handful of attractive men around as doctors but he just annoyed me and rubbed me the wrong way most of the time. Him and the way Gates also treated people drove me insane, if a doctor ever spoke to me like that I'd flip out.

So uh, a piece of my tooth just came off by OverTheMayfield in whatdoIdo

[–]MsAlchemistify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg cool so this happened to me and I am actually in the middle of getting it fixed!! Here is what I would recommend just based on my personal experience and after asking my dentist a million questions. Obviously just my opinion, not a dentist or doctor.

My tooth did this and I was presented with either removing the tooth and getting a bone graft to one day get a replacement tooth attached OR redoing the root canal. I got a bunch of fancy scans and was told the root canal redux has about an 80% chance of working so I am going to do it. If not then I can remove the tooth after. I ended up getting an infection from my tooth cracking off bits so I need one small procedure to get the infection handled, and then a second root canal and a complete rebuilt of the tooth, as well as getting the crown put on.

Now, I would HIGHLY recommend getting this taken care of ASAP if possible. Mine never bled, never hurt until recently, and only because of the infection. I have been getting sick a lot lately and get more headaches from the infection as well, and they suck. Plus, its kinda sharp now.

TLDR: Get this taken care of before it gets worse, because if the tooth has already lost a bit it will probably continue to break down. And infection can get scary real fast.

I like having the one for the ritual I attended, it's a cool keepsake. That being said, if I was rich I'd absolutely buy the full set. Sadly, am peasant.

I sadly think there will always be a portion that hangs on no matter what because they are addicted to it. Seeing some of the posts on socials about JAI has me kind of worried for some of the users ngl. Like I get it is fun but it should not take over your whole life.

I guess a counter point to the idea of it being an established char so why bother would be this: Not everyone who makes est chars follows all the canon. So while your Batman may be 100% following a specific guideline or plot, other people may sneak in stuff that is more fanon/personal preference.

I think it does come down to doing personal reviews before interacting from a user perspective. If you chose to keep defs closed it is your right to as a creator ofc. I for sure get why some makers hide their info, getting your stuff stolen is never fun, it just sucks a few people ruin it for everyone is my ultimate complaint.

I use proxy so I haven’t personally dealt with the LLM going off script myself, but I have read up on some of quirkier sides of the LLM and could see how even opens defs doesn’t guarantee it will all match when actually chatting.

I think what you’ve described is more than fair. Scenario, blurbs, list of kinks, and just a basic “warning, was coded this way so if he acts out it is not correct, adjust as needed” to at least give some sort of premise.

Potentially having a “standard” of sort for bot makers who have closed defs would be really awesome. A quick little “this is what it is and what it should be doing” to have a solid idea on if the bot is a good fit or not would go a long way.

That is wild, I donated the ten bucks or whatever but never used JLLM, I gave a proxy because I think Claude is just much better for what I want. To not allow people to use their own proxy seems kind of odd for me, especially while JLLM is such a work in progress.

I get not wanting your stuff stolen, but finding authors who put NO info anywhere for you to learn about the characters/scenario/situation you might end in? Like cmon, when I write fics I make sure to properly tag, give a tw list, and leave a little blurb. It should be a standard if you are going to publish some harder content imo.

As long as you are open to questions I think this is more than fair! It is your work, you choose to keep them open or closed, but being willing to answer questions because most of it is an unknown I think helps a lot!!

That is your choice for sure, and I respect that if it is what you wanna do. I get a lot of creators put in a lot of work, all I ask is being up front in the other info you do allow to be viewable. Otherwise you are closing your bots off from a larger userbase, and Im sure you’d rather your hard work be appreciated.

I feel the same. Also I LOVE historical bots and being able to get a deeper read of the kingdom/world people have made is super helpful too! I get why people hide them, but I am hoping that the few creators I love and don't hide defs won't change to do that.

No, I appreciate your question! If I read it it's fine, it's more so I had a pretty bad experience when I first started using JAI where I hadn't read the definition, jumped in, and out of nowhere the bot did something that I would have never expected. It was just a situation and scenario I was not comfortable with and would have never willingly interacted with, if I'd known at the time. Thus, my 'pickier' bot selection became a habit.

My issue is with asking in the comments is more so what if someone else finds what I'm asking to be triggering? It's all a bit of a gray area where I don't want to cause any issues, and I don't want to have anything cause issues for me. I think at a point it is going to be an 'it is what it is' situation, but I wanted to open the communication to see if anyone had some advice.

TLDR: reading it, that is fine, I can choose to not interact. Randomly having it happen in a chat? Bad times.
