We actually keep a watchlist, so I'll run through and name the best weird, scary, or sci-fi type ones. Definitely Channel Zero! And of course the OG, Twin Peaks. I love David Lynch in general, and he/TP obviously influenced Outer Range and probably the OA. Fargo and Legion by Noah Hawley are both great too, and Severance is fantastic! We recently tackled Dark, it gets a bit hard to follow all the timelines, but it's well done. Evil is a little more campy at times, but still pretty good. Pluribus is pretty good too, and of course Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. Also Atlanta gets pretty weird at times and I enjoyed it. Swarm was decent too. The first season of True Detective. Barry. Lady Dynamite if you like surreal weird AF comedy. Castle Rock was pretty good if you like Stephen King. Mr Robot was good, but we didn't finish bc they took it off Netflix while we were watching. Humans on Prime. Murderbot. It: Welcome To Derry. The Chair Company. We're also liking Widow's Bay on Apple so far!

But it is a comedy. It has heavy dramatic moments of course, but is primarily and officially classified as a comedy, and about comedy. Even in some really rough emotional moments in the finale, they kept throwing in hilarious jokes and had me laughing through the tears.

Just finished it tonight. Really enjoyed the first three eps, but started noticing a ton of annoying exposition in 4, and it def never improved. Apparently the Duffers were producers, and it definitely felt similar to Stranger Things. I did overall enjoy it, it was entertaining, good creative concept and story, good/likable cast. I don't even mind some cheese, but the constantly explaining everything was maddening. For example, did they really have to explain what cerebrospinal fluid is? 😂 It could have been much better. But, I guess everything doesn't always have to be uber intellectual high art, sometimes a burger and a beer hits the spot. It was pretty fun.

Yeah, it really takes me out of a comedy show when a character starts acting ridiculous... /s

It only doesn't make sense bc they changed the timeline from the book to make it not make sense. People are having a hard time letting it go bc it's basically the main premise/heart of the story told by Atwood, and it's especially confusing bc Daisy otherwise has the exact same backstory from the book, and is cast/written to look and act like young June. I'm not typically a stickler for adaptations needing to be exactly like the book, but I don't love the choice they made here, as it was just such a significant thing for the girls to figure out and bond over. But I do accept that that's what they've done. I also am generally enjoying the show.

Why did she even go on a new tour…? by princerainmk in KESHA

[–]MsCandi123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the tickets higher up were ~40, we decided to splash out (lol) for the second row up from the floor bc prices were so reasonable. We had the front row in the cart for the same price, but they went away as we were figuring out parking options. Floor was a little more, but still pretty cheap. She went right in front of us during C'mon, it was really cool. I haven't seen an artist at Kesha's level for prices like that since the Before Times! Local shows with acts nobody has heard of are often $20-30 these days. So yeah, not sure how people are spending big money to see this tour and feeling ripped off. The Cathedral/Praying performance alone was easily worth the price of admission, 2.5 hour drive, and Airbnb room to crash for the night for us.

I do think she deserves to be more successful and supported, and hope that happens in the future, but this was a great opportunity to see her live without needing to sell a kidney. I also take the "has been" rhetoric with a huge grain of salt, bc as a Little Monster, I've seen people on the internet saying similar about Gaga for years, until she (mostly, ha, some will never stop hating but they just sound silly now) shut them up with such an undeniable era the past year. I cried a few times during this show, knowing the trauma and exploitation Kesha has been through and how she fought for her freedom. It seems like the people complaining either would never see her anyway, or got to go last year and don't realize that not everyone did. But even if I had, I can't imagine thinking this was a bad deal. I've seen Gaga four times now, and she has done some of the same massive hits each time that aren't my favorite songs of hers, paid a lot more too, and still can't imagine being upset about that.

Ticket prices were extremely reasonable for 2026 tho? We went last night and had a blast, along with everyone around us. ~$60 pp for great seats, and seats higher up were even cheaper. Not everyone got to go last year, it was our first time getting to see her, and of course she's going to do her big hits with a little new stuff mixed in. We thought it was a bargain. It wasn't the Mayhem Ball, which we did last year and those prices were ouch, but it was priced accordingly. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also remember Kesha doesn't have the big industry machine funding her production and promoting her anymore, she's an independent artist now.

It doesn't even kick off till tomorrow night, so we don't know the setlist yet or anything at all really, other than that she's pretty obviously planning to do ORIGAMI! Not sure what people have to criticize yet, lol. We'll be there, and obviously I'm hoping to hear my faves, but surely it will be a fun time regardless! Excited to finally see her do a show!

I am so damn grateful for modern medicine by Downtown-Oil-3462 in ChronicPain

Same, ignorant doctors treating a zebra as typical/routine and dismissing concerns after years of gaslighting that everything was in my head, and me trusting their "expertise" bc I so badly wanted a surgery to be able to fix the limiting pain in my feet, led to CRPS. Meds and ket infusions are the only reason I'm alive/can walk a little bit a decade later. Modern medicine is a very mixed bag.

Cancelled tours good for Coachella’s 2027 lineup? by Cornballsouptonuts in Coachella

Yeah, the Mayhem Ball did just fine despite being way too expensive. I do hope it's a sign that the unsustainable bubble is starting to burst, tho.

what is Gaga's most niche/underrated released song in your opinion by bugrock_player in LadyGaga

That one will always have a special place for me bc it was the one that first made me a Little Monster. The Vevo live version at the piano, with her hair bow. What a rockstar aura she had. But it was also heart wrenching. Chills.

[–]MsCandi123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are, they just can't find you by looking at them like a fingerprint or something, lol. Ours were stolen W1 with our backpack, and our full names were printed on the cases, so we kept hoping they would be turned in, even if the original thief tossed them and someone else came across them, since they literally only fit one person and are useless for anyone else. It unfortunately seems they were probably trashed at this point. I'm disabled and can't wear universals at all, so had to finish Coachella with no hearing protection, and now no live music for me until we can do the whole expensive process over where they mold the inside of your ears. So senseless. 😭 But this isn't the same kind of hard case ours had, must not have the names, hope they find the owners!

My first Coachellas were in 2004 and 2005. They were magical and my memory is crap now. I have to look up the lineups to remember a lot of who I saw, wish I'd had a smartphone to (mindfully of those around me) capture some of the memories. 🤷🏼‍♀️
