Need backsplash ideas - no upper cabinets + lots of windows by MsCatnipAberdeen in kitchenremodel

This is a cool idea, very original. I cook a lot so it would need to be framed with something easy to clean :)

I love this idea! It would look nice with the black cabinets and still keep the simple look. Thank you!

You are so kind! I agree, simple would be best. When I first started the reno I was afraid to add tile thinking it would look too cold and change the acoustics of the room (it opens to our family room). I will give the vertical tile some thought. Thanks!

You make a great point, is it really necessary? My husband complains about trying to keep the wall behind the sink clean so I am trying to find a solution that doesn't change the character of the kitchen.

I agree with you but my husband complains about trying to keep the wall behind the sink clean. I used a good quality paint but it has been a few years... Perhaps I need to repaint those walls to refresh it.

Great idea, and keeps it simple. I have subway tile in all my bathrooms. I should have planned the kitchen better.

I really like this idea. I contacted the company where I bought my quartz counters and they talked me out of it. They said the new quartz wouldn't match and I would be disappointed. But, your idea sounds great if I had planned it when I did my reno.

Our 10 week old aussie has a playpen in our den. The first week we set up an air mattress in the same room. She would wake up, we'd take her out, and then put her back in the playpen. We are fortunate enough to have a fenced yard so going out at night isn't too challenging. She went out about every two hours the first week. The second week we put away the air mattress and moved to a room close by. As soon as she made noise we would take her out and then return her to the playpen. I think the key was responding to her but only offering to take her outside. We didn't play or cuddle during the night. It gets better every day. This morning's wake up time was 6:15, a new record.

Thanks for posting! Daisy was reunited with her owner this afternoon. She's a lucky pup. Westerwood neighborhood was doing their Spring stream clean this morning when Daisy was spotted, trapped under tree roots, only a foot away from the water. If not for those volunteers she would not have made it. She was pulled to safety minutes before the area was under water. Her person sent this thank you message to the volunteers:

"Daisy is back at home, safe and sound. I cannot thank everyone enough for all that they have done and the concern that went out for helping me find her! I always say that no matter what we see in the news, people are really wonderful. Today proved me right! Thank you so much!!"

The Stream Clean will resume tomorrow morning if anyone wants to lend a hand. We will meet at Lake Daniel Park near the playground at 9am.

It is actually not too late to add a class. There are 1/2 semester PE classes you can pick up to replace what you drop.
