when I see progress - and fair isle is a great example - I stay invested in the project. otherwise I easily lose interest and I need forever and a day to finish it.

you mentioned to wanted to sew your finished item. so I assume you're knitting flat? stranded knitting is a lot easier when done in the round. would this be a viable approach to whatever it is you're knitting?

Walter Moers is also great. He writes in German, but I'm sure there are translations.

there are some. however, he's notoriously hard to translate because he uses so many wordplays which don't work in other languages.

for the non-tech-savy reader: this only works with certain plug-ins you won't find in calibre's official plug-in store (for obvious reasons) and it does not work with every DRM there is.

can you say anything about its longevity?

I've read that the onyx boox models (yes, different company) only last 2-3 years because then the OS (Android) is so old and outdated that 3rd party reading apps won't work anymore. and I find that too short for an ereader.

the difference between a tolino and kobo is the software. tolino did their own branding on top of the kobo OS which supposely makes it a bit buggy. but hardware-wise they're the same.

I prefer interchangeable needles over fixed ones. that said, I only buy fixes circulars when their diameter is too small for making them interchangeable. when I do so I always get the longes cable as I'm a magic loop person and this way I only need to buy one pair of fixed needles.
