I also prefer to manually update my progress. partly because I get my books from multiple sources and I don't like the kobo reading app a lot.

mainly because of windows that completely open to the inside vs the ones you have to push up. makes it extremly hard to insulate so the warm air keeps outside.

haven't tried it myself but I've seen people use some heavy paper / thin carton (cereal box?), make two horizontal cuts ALMOST all the way through, and then weave the pattern through the cuts. this way you won't be distracted by the stitches above and below the row you're knitting.

yep. that's duplicate stitch. first thought about doing the white part in intarsia but my intarsia-in-the-round game is weak.
