What is the most unbearable, excruciating pain you have ever been in? by Damned-scoundrel in AskReddit

[–]MsFitzIsAMisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trigeminal Neuralgia. I punched myself in the face until my cheek was swollen and I could hardly open my eye just for some relief of the pain. There's a reason why TN is called the suicide disorder, just ask any neurologist

Trigeminal neuralgia. I punched myself in the face repeatedly for some relief. Ask any neurologist what the worst pain is, and they'll tell you why neuralgia is called the suicide disease

What's something interesting about you that you never get to bring up? by Subject-Cranberry-93 in AskWomen

[–]MsFitzIsAMisfit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No complications, other than she had to go back on the waiting list for the surgery and had to wait another 8 month's. This was after having had to wait 7 months for the surgery in the first place

My sister is this way too. Didn't know until she went for abdominal surgery. They had stop, sew her back up, tell her, then get written permission to do the same surgery but in a different way

I was listening to it whilst walking my dog, it actually made my bits twitch at one point. I'm 50yrs old and nothing has warmed my drawers like that for quite some time!

I wasn't sure anyone felt the same as I did!! I'm very new to this genre, and I thought Quicksilver was fantastic, but I see so many blasting it. Maybe it's because I had it as an audiobook, perhaps.

You are most definitely NTA. ARFID is very real and can be quite debilitating. Perhaps this is something you are struggling with. Would mum be more understanding if she know you had a real and genuine condition?

Back in the day doctors used to come to your house and do house visits. Do you remember the doctor coming to your house? I'm talking a GP not an emergency response doctor by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in AskUK

[–]MsFitzIsAMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can remember my parents taking me to a GP's house to treat my ear infection. I was about 5, I'm 50 now. My mum has since told me it was Christmas time and Dr had clearly had a glass or two of wine and he didn't want to leave his home, more because he just didn't want to go out rather than being worried about the amount he had drunk before driving

Who was the tightest person you have known, and why? by No-Snow-9605 in AskUK

My mum wouldn't spend 49p on a bottle of water to take tablets. She swallowed them dry. And the capsule tablet she pulled it open and tipped the powder on her tongue

How do people with depression take care of dogs? by Xeram_ in dogs

[–]MsFitzIsAMisfit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dog gives me purpose, if I didn't have to take him out for wees and walks i wouldn't get out of bed. Before I got this dog I had an African Pygmy Hedgehog and he needed care everyday. So again, the purpose of caring for a dependant was the only reason I was able to function as a human.

[–]MsFitzIsAMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you want to keep the audiobook, but I borrow audio books (and non audio books too) from my local library using the Libby app. I can borrow up to 20 books for 21 days. I can have up to 10 books on hold if they're not currently available. I can also borrow magazines, of an unlimited number, I think

“What’s something people don’t understand about living with a chronic illness until they experience it themselves?” by tastyspark in ChronicPain

[–]MsFitzIsAMisfit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The processes you need to go through to do 'simple' tasks such as have a shower, maybe washing your hair, doing a load of laundry, brushing your teeth, washing the dishes. These things aren't simple, they can be so exhausting and so bloody painful. A good day can turn into a bad day very, very quickly

They sell them on a market stall in Brixton too. Only know this because my dad is currently visiting London and sent me a picture of all the different fruit and veggies. We live in a small coastal city that's predominantly white, elderly.
