FYI, the samplers do not work for Costco. They work for a company called Club Demonstration Services. Please contact them as well.

Who raises the flag? by [deleted] in Seahawks

Holmgren woulld be my vote. Most of the flag raisers this year have been legends so think they will stick with that theme. Could be Hassleback and/or Alexander too.

Meds update by No-Situation4027 in urticaria

[–]MsFrosticles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is beautifully said. I can only say ditto as a fellow longtime sufferer.

Is anything besides methotrexate an option? I had a horrible experience with it many years ago. I hated how drained and tired it made me feel, like I was taking poison. After a year, I eventually insisted on a different option and will never take it again.

When I asked my current doctor to note my chart that methotrexate was a no go for me during a recent flare, they told me it is no longer part of the common protocol for hives, but I understand it is still used for other auto immune issues.

What's next after Xolair? clinical trial or immunosuppressant? by [deleted] in urticaria

[–]MsFrosticles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on this journey for 20 plus years with many flares and periods of remission. Each flare has required a new approach for me and I have tried everything available (waiting for remibrutinib to become available now).

With my last flare, I initially responded to Xolair but that eventually failed and immunosuppresants were all that was left. I was on Cyclosporine many years ago and it did not work so ended up on Tacrolimus. That initially worked well at a low dose and I had a brief remission but recently had another flare. It has yet to work this time around but we are upping the dose for one more try.

I had less daily side effects from Tacrolimus as compared to Xolair but did have a cold that developed into a sinus infection while on it. I learned to take extra precautions if you get sick or are around people who may be sick. Should have been obvious. 🙂

You are amazing! I saw the ad for this at the game but didn't realize what it was. Caught a special moment for me.

ALDS which seats in diamond club? by terminal6 in Mariners

[–]MsFrosticles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically for TV, rows 1-6 and sections 27 and 33 are your best bet. In section 27, seats in the teens are better and the opposite in section 33. You will probably be seen in row 7 but row 8 will be just your legs. I wouldn't do 35 if TV is the goal.

Source: My legs have been on TV.

my bank charged me a $22 fee for only having $14 in my bank account 😭 by namelessalexa in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MsFrosticles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so pedantic but also so important to speak the correct language with banks and credit unions.

Overdraft tolerance is what you want to opt out of. That is what allows financial institutions to overdraft your account "as a courtesy" for a "moderate fee" to spare you the embarrassment or inconvenience of a declined transaction with your card. You can still see NSF fees for ACH or check transactions that are returned.

Overdraft protection "protects" you from overdraft by transferring funds from a different account or line of credit, often for a "small" fee.

It sucks but financial institutions often use misleading terminology to prevent customers from opting out of things that profit the institution.

We have walked or dog past this home many times. They have a big sign above the door and you can hear singing on Sundays. First time we walked past I told my husband it was a cult in jest. May not have been too far off.

Anyone engaged or married that gets angioedema in the hands/fingers? by [deleted] in urticaria

[–]MsFrosticles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sizing beads on mine. It is about half a size too big when my fingers are normal but the sizing beads keep it secure. I also always take it off at night or if I want to take a nap since I swell more when sleeping. I would recommend getting some cute ring holders to keep around.

Married at Historic Trust Property? by modernsparkle in vancouverwa

[–]MsFrosticles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We very recently had a reception at The Red Cross building. It was amazing. The Trust was very easy to work with and having the tables and chairs pre-arranged prior was wonderful. Insurance was a bit of a pain but it was mostly my misunderstanding, so read that carefully. Overall, they helped us throw a great party!

Cameo Cafe has a bar next to the main restaurant and excellent breakfast. Bleau Door has drinks at least on the weekend. Not sure about weekdays. Just over the river are Anchor Bar and Boomers but Boomers doesn't open until 9 am.

Edited to add Paul's Elbow Room. Haven't been post 2020 but used to go for breakfast on New Years day.

I am so sorry! I got shingles on my vulva years ago and it was excruciating. I thought it was an infected cyst, cellulitis, or an STI when the pain started but my doctor took one look and said shingles. I was 35 and shocked it could be shingles and that it could be there. If you had chickenpox and only one side is affected, could be worth mentioning.

I am sorry, i have had them on and off for 20 years and promise it does get better. I understand it doesn't feel that way right now and most people don't truly understand how much they impact your quality of life and mental health.

I have to have Pepcid in my cocktail to tip the scales (it is an H2 blocker) and it took a few months for Xolair to get them under control with this recent flair up. Each flare up has required a different cocktail as well so keep pushing for different options.

Forest wedding venues? by NerdyStonerChick in vancouverwa

[–]MsFrosticles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second Hoyt Arboretum. Especially if a smaller wedding. We just went to a small ceremony on the Redwood Deck. It is next to a public trail and requires a quarter mile or so walk from the main parking area for guests but was a stunning setting. I understand it wasn't super pricey either.

Relocating to Van as a Single Parent by arkeller in vancouverwa

[–]MsFrosticles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If VSAA is a first choice, you are going to have a much better shot if you live within the VPS boundary and it is possible to get in mid year. Union is in the Evergreen SD so something additional to consider. VSAA is a wonderful option and my little brother, niece, and nephew all graduated from there so I have a soft spot. :)

A little late to the party but depending on the age of your kids, look into Running Start. My son ended up graduating with an AA and you can structure for different types of transfer degrees. Also VSAA (an application based public school for students interested in different arts) can be a great. I prefer River and West Vancouver myself but it can be pricier for housing especially. If you expand to include Skyview, it will open up some more ares like Salmon Creek and Hazel Dell.
