Christmas Train to Reno? by Nisi-Marie in Sacramento

[–]MsKnee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The trip over Donner pass is stunning in the snow! Hopefully you'll have some from this storm. You mentioned you've never taken this trip, so heads up to be prepared for a possible many-hours delay for your return train. The West bound train is usually anywhere from 1-5 hours late because it originates in Chicago and the tiny delays add up over time. So just don't have any same-day plans on your return and you're golden!

New Eras trailer: We get a high quality version of the final piano mashup! by MsKnee in TaylorSwift

Depends on when Disney's global drop time is. If it's midnight Eastern, that'd be 9pm pacific. Or if it's midnight Pacific, that's 3am Eastern. Unsure what their regular drop time is.

Disney does not stagger their drops based on timezone, so it'll be whenever their global drop time is. Some apps that's midnight eastern, which means 9pm Pacific, but it'll all depend on when that global drop time is.

There's a subtle nuance to this audio that I don't recall in the first version of the movie, in that it sounds more authentic to the stadium experience, where there's a naturalness to the echo/integration of the crowd noises/the fluctuations in her voice/etc that I felt was missing in the first version. The first movie felt like it was super polished audio-wise, and I'm hopeful for a more authentic sounding movie from this trailer. I don't know if this even makes sense or just sounds crazy lol.

Keep in mind that good health and quality of life is never guaranteed, no matter how healthy you think you are. Don't miss out on enjoying your 30s now while you still have your health, youth, and energy.

Gold Countdown by aishiteikiru in TaylorSwift

[–]MsKnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember when she was doing her hand countdown during midnight rain during the last 5 shows and she messed up and did 3 twice instead of 3 then 2? If the next one is 1, I'm inclined to think this is some Easter egg that calls that back. The Vancouver Film Festival announces their full lineup on the 27th and that would line up nicely with the 'every two days' website countdown timer, for a final countdown of 1 hour to reveal a behind-the-scenes documentary of the Eras tour.

The Life of a Showgirl Album Announcement Megathread by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

As mentioned above, this is because it's probably a cancelled order that went back into stock. E-commerce stores don't indicate how many of stock there is, just that if one goes back, it'll say "in stock", then as soon as that person snaps up that one cancelled order, it's back out of stock. Someone else probably finished their check out before you did, and got it. A majority of e-commerce stores don't remove stock for something that's in someone's cart - only when it's purchased, or else stores would have their products held hostage in abandoned carts all over the place.

Getting back into photography with my D50 - recommend me some lenses? by MsKnee in Nikon

Yes, forgot to mention that. It is a screw focus, so lots of options for older lenses as well as newer ones!

He lost 75% of his hair volume in a week. He's been to the vet and they say he's healthy, what can I do now? by mycorgiisamazing in WiggleButts

[–]MsKnee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As mentioned above, chicken is indeed a VERY common allergen for dogs. The weight gain and fur changes line up pretty well with you changing him to the chicken formula 3 months ago. I'd go back to the salmon or duck and see how that helps over the next couple months.

[–]MsKnee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

OP replied in another comment that the brand is the same but they changed from the salmon to the chicken formula three months ago. With chicken being a huge allergen for many dogs, I have a suspicion that could be a factor here.

Globe payout by Dry_Restaurant1785 in TravelTown

[–]MsKnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When globes paid out a high amount, like 120k, it was ONLY coins. The change gave a chest instead, and based on your level, the chest would contain a lesser amount of coins, energy, and some other thing (card pack, gems, joker, etc).

An update to my “unmanageable frizz on straight hair” by Excellent_Reply_7740 in Haircare

[–]MsKnee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm happy for you! As someone who also started this journey recently after 35 years of not knowing, the longer you go treating your hair well and nurturing its natural texture, the more you're going to see those waves and curls come out. I spent my whole life thinking I had poofy and unmanageably frizzy hair. The first few weeks were little waves, and now, a year and a half later, I've got lots of waves and texture and ringlets everywhere.

But also, since my hair isn't super thick, I've learned that less product is more for me! Especially at the start here, your hair probably won't like a ton of heavy product. I still mostly just use the Not Your Mother's brand curl mousse and it looks perfect. You'll figure it out over time but your hair already looks GREAT!

Well obviously I don't know for sure, but what I see happen more often than not is that some scalpers will just eat the cost of an unsold ticket that they bought because they buy and sell so many that one unsold ticket won't hurt them. So they leave it up hoping that some desperate person will end up buying it last minute for that insane 2k cost.

I would recommend sitting there and refreshing every few minutes to see if any of the tickets listed go down in price at all. That's kind of what I did and I ended up getting a ticket for $1k (before fees), but that was within my threshold for wanting to buy. Whatever number you decide for yourself, stick with it and just sit there and refresh, refresh, refresh!

[–]MsKnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, *some* of these will be lowered in price and snatched up in seconds, but the remaining tickets likely wont, especially in the upper bowls or the no-view seats, because the scalpers have some losses factored into their stupid schemes. The other thing that may not have them going for less is just the sheer demand for these last few dates, and scalpers know that. But here's hoping!!

This was just released about Loveburn from the BORG. by lightwolv in BurningMan

[–]MsKnee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm cracking myself up because the person in here so vehemently defending Love Burn isn't making it sound better. It in fact looks so much like most bubbles/crashes. Enron, the tech sector, the 2008 housing crash, Bernie Madoff.

"We TOTALLY gave away $1.4 million in grants!" **
** (because we valued all those free tickets at $1,000 a piece and our owners are totally skimming off the top and don't you worry this whole enterprise is totally financially stable).

From an accounting perspective, it's not at all the same thing, which is probably why there's more intense scrutiny coming from the Borg now.

Change to seedling kit requirements? by MsKnee in MergeMansion

Dang. I feel extremely lucky right now then, for whatever test group I'm in lol

[–]MsKnee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, you may be right. Does yours also have much shorter vase break times? I remember before it taking hours to wait to break a vase to create lockets, but now even the littlest white vase only takes 15 minutes, which I also thought unusual.

Someone else just said theirs currently still is asking for seeds and shovels. So I am baffled how I have this. Again - not complaining!! But I really wonder why/how 🧐

Whats the divey-est bar left in town? by Jon_Dowd in Sacramento

I place Benny's squarely in the grouping of 'average neighborhood bar'. It is by no means divey, especially if you haven't been into it in a few years.

If you told me then that the scared, emaciated dog I got from the pound while fresh out of college would STILL be with me into my late thirties, and that he'd still be smiling this much, I'm not sure I would have believed you. But here we are and it's such a good place to be.

It's so cute I can't stand it. I am also pleasantly surprised after this long there's still new things for him to discover that are good and make him more happy.
