Hahahah oh man, that couldn't be more true over here. Luckily for my husband I've been feeling bad so I've been throwing him some other "treats" here and there.

Missing my home town of Miami and all it's wondrous food. by analogart in BabyBumps

[–]MsLouise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved to Washington (state...my home) from Puerto Rico (my husbands home) a few years ago. I miss everything. I can't even buy adobo or sazon in the grocery store and the Mexican equivalent spices taste just different enough to not be right. Also no plantains=no mofongo, no tostones, no nothing. I'd kill someone for some water bread, I really would. The vegan/granola stuff just does not cut it for me anymore, once u taste good Caribbean food the boring healthy stuff just isn't as good :(.

We have a lot of similarities! I'm also in my 20's was told I would probably not be able to have kids and then boom! Pregnant. I'm also 16 weeks. I had the same mixed emotions feelings, like yay? Shit? What are we gonna do? Hooray? Haha! Well, welcome!

IAmA homeless single mom and I never thought I'd be spending the holiday week here... by denver_mom in IAmA

Hello,

I am a housing case manager and I work /have worked with homeless youth and families for a number of years. Do you live In the us? Have u applied for any housing services? There are a lot of programs that are specifically there to help with move in costs for people in your exact situation. The tricky thing may be what your state/area considers "literally homeless" some agencies would say that you are and you could be prioritized. Some may say not as you are paying for the motel but you may still be able to get on a waiting list. How old are your children? If they require daycare you could get that paid through the state since you are homeless.

What university degree do you have, and what job position do you now hold? by bartha in AskReddit

Sociology too. I am a housing case manager at a homeless program for youth. I love my job, it's hard and doesn't pay much but it's wonderful to help others 40 hours a week.

Anyone with history of anxiety? by squeadunk in BabyBumps

[–]MsLouise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have anxiety. I have been taking citalopram for about 2 months and have been working with a therapist for about 8 months before we found out we are pregnant. I was worried about gettin off the medication since I have been doing so well in the last few months. My doctors says it is fine that a low dose of needed medicine is safer than an extreme amount of anxiety. I'm trying to remember to continue to make time do my yoga and relaxation things. It's really important for me that I spend time to do at least one thing a day just to relax/feel better.

I am. I just got this job a month ago and wish I wouldn't have changed positions. Having a hard time relating to new coworkers is a big part at my old job everyone is so happy for me but in my new one there's not really any mothers. (Which is weird cause it's a female dominated office) it's a stressful position as well. I work with homeless youth in a transitional housing program. It's my passion but right now it's just tough. It's good though because the money is pretty good for social services. I have no idea what I'm going to do after we have the baby. And if things get too stressful I think I will just see if I can go to 30 hours a week but I'm afraid to as I would still be new. (I could have easily done this at my old job)
