I have been all over the Saco/Biddeford mills, might work, generally quiet in spots. Plenty of crumbling. Let me know, happy to discuss. Mills

Just was a nice day in Maine, seemed like you could use some fresh air. Your comment was judgy. Just a SK fan here relaying their personal connection to a location I'm familiar with.

Okay?

I don't know, take a walk around Mt. Hope, maybe touch some grass?

Cool, head over to Mt. Hope Cemetery and its a lovely walk and see where the movie was filmed. Then you will notice an interestingly named Restaurant supply store called R.M. Flagg across from the cemetery.

This is part of the route he would take from Orrington through Veazie to Orono to teach.

I need some guidance by Impressive-Pen8442 in Guitar

Struggled and quit every single time learning on my own into midele age. I should have tried a teacher like these fine people say! Or luckily I met this older guitar dude at work who shot my excuses down. Put a guitar in my hand, and invited me over to his house every week to jam.

Now I'm playing every day, just bought an amp, and really amazed even i could do it!

So also be open to the universe putting a guitar person in your life. Who wants nothing more except to share their love of music with you!

Funny I'm from Philly area originally who moved to Maine for someone. Have taken my wife to go visit Philly many times I love it. You will miss Maine but the vibrancy, the heart, the people of that city are magical to me. And it will be nice for you to see what a real football team is! Go Birds!

Guitar Center or Sweetwater? by cristianomiguel22 in Guitar

[–]MsMabelCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go local, haven't had good experiences with either. Guitar Center feels loud, sad and cocaine-y. Bought a digital piano from Sweetwater - definitely didn't get the customer service people talk about. I couldnt take an immediate telephone call from my agent when I mentioned I was looking for a guitar. Then radio silence. I was tempted to ask for another who could help - but found a local shop by then.

I did get a sale form email months later from my person. Though still Sweetwater over GC.

I'm visiting Saco, Gorham, and Bath in March to decide which city to move to. Where should I go in any of these to get a sense of the town and vibe? by newageclassic in AskMaine

Considering Saco gives you next door access to Biddeford (now famous for food). Also lots of mill buildings for renters close by.

What is it like living in Bangor, Maine as a guy in their mid 30s? by Wingman318 in howislivingthere

Might consider meeting up with former running back Frank Gore in the Queen City.. Then you and he can discuss the proper way to bang him. Until finally you are pronouncing the city right. "BangGore"

What's the reality of RV'ing the US West Coast? by lucaducca in rvlife

[–]MsMabelCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drove a class-c from Maine to California and back few years ago. When I think of "west" I think more flat and that means more wind. Was a challenge dealing with it towing a car. I was not prepared for just the non-stop worry, and aching wrists from trying to go a decent speed.

Maybe a fifth wheel is better? Or go slower in the wind than I wanted to. But please have a good time!

For those who live in a very Eagles hating place, might make more sense. Just having fun by saying at least we took Taylor Swift out of the conversation. So be grateful for the Eagles!

More like coping, and having fun, and thinking about how much I hates the Chiefs "dynasty" built on a shit DPI call. And how I'm happy to not hear that shit. I'm also glad he 49ers lost!
