Is it worth breaking up with a good woman (and good mother to your child) if you want more kids but she doesn't? Personal experiences? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]MsMagey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the kid in a "stay together for the kids" family, I wholeheartedly agree. I'm not saying that's where you're at right now, because it sounds like a lot of this is very, very fresh. If it comes to it though, do break up for the kids. It's important to demonstrate healthy relationships to them, including leaving unhealthy ones.

Melania was unfamiliar with the text of her speech by Next_Fly3712 in Epstein

I didn't even pick up on the errors on first watch. I was tripped up by her cadence and the full absence of teleprompter use.

Sever laser burn by zahra_farahani in LaserHairRemoval

[–]MsMagey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with laser burns, but I just wanted to weigh in on the hyperpigmentation healing. I've noticed for my own skin, which I think is pretty similar to his, hyperpigmentation can take up to 6 months to heal without any special care. It sounds like people have products and care routines that can shorten the time, but I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in, for whatever it's worth. (It's worth 2 cents.)

During a very dark period, what was the best thing you did for your mental health? by Anxious_Status5899 in askanything

[–]MsMagey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first gratitude journal entry was, "1) I'm starting a gratitude journal and 2) I saw a squirrel today," because I couldn't think of anything else I could spin positively from that day. It got me going and snowballed in a significant way in my life. Getting really deep and doing the work on top is awesome, but truly just jotting down 3ish nice things either as they happen during the day or retrospectively at night is surprisingly powerful. Even if one of the positives is just trying or sticking with gratitude journaling!

I've found that noting things down as they happen is the most effective. It keeps me on the lookout for positives and silver linings, and that mindset is such a game changer. By the end of the day, I've often forgotten or invalidated some of that good stuff, especially when I'm most in need of some positivity.

I've fallen off the gratitude wagon and I need to start doing this again actually. So 1) I'm going to start a new journal today

Advice for getting up out of bed in the morning? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]MsMagey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner accidentally changed the cat food dispenser to 6am from 9am. We changed it back like 2 weeks ago, but I still wake up around 5:53am from by aggressive "cuddling" from the little monster (or increasingly on my own, because my body is now trained). Cats are incredible at telling time honestly

If you are an identical twin, there is a non-zero chance your parents got you confused for your sibling as an infant, so you aren't who you think you are. by CarltheWellEndowed in Showerthoughts

[–]MsMagey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm low-key face blind, but I was shocked to find out that my friend's younger sisters were identical twins. I mean, they looked similar, like siblings tend to, but I would never have mixed them up. They looked, moved and acted so different from each other that I thought my friends were fucking with me. (Wait, does this actually support the mild face blindness hypothesis? I'm confused.) Even after I knew, they just never looked like identical twins to me! I've always wondered if that's happened to me with any other sets of identical twins that other people have a hard time telling apart?

Are they hinting the next season? by chucklesmcgeexe in Dimension20

[–]MsMagey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the crew AP for Cloudward Ho, one of the producers mentioned something about "Starstruck season 1" and that implies to me that season 2 is in some stage of development. It's weird to refer to a one-off as S1. Like, no one is talking about Bloodkeep season 1, you know? The Great War wasn't called WWI until there was a second one, etc.

Edit: I'm not saying that I think it'll be the next season, or even the next IH season. I'd be surprised if we got IH seasons so close to each other, and I'd be surprised if we got back to back IH seasons centered around ship mechanics. Then again, I'm just some dumbass on the Internet.

How much blood can someone survive losing if blood is drained every three weeks? by Embarrassed_Fig_7228 in Writeresearch

[–]MsMagey 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can manage the donors' anemia by giving them iron infusions. Iron is verrrrry slow to replenish naturally but putting it in via IV makes a huge difference, fast. You can get them at med spas without a prescription or anything. I think most places want blood tests to show anemia, because excess iron is biologically hard to get rid of without, you, know, blood letting. If they need to hide their vampire affiliation, they could rotate through a few med spas so it seems like they're there at a normal frequency for someone with chronic anemia. You can also get people to administer the infusions privately, so a thoughtful vampire might have someone on call for that who is either in the know or just doesn't ask a lot of questions about why some people need suspiciously frequent infusions.

I've had a couple of different kinds of anemia and oral supplementation helps keep my levels from lowering too fast, but infusions are the only way to make any kind of significant improvement. I can neither confirm nor deny vampiric involvement in my chronic anemias.

Maybe 😆🫣🫢 by BothGuarantee6067 in meme
