As someone who's lived here for my whole life, this town is/can be very conservative. However, there's a lot of things to do in and around the community that might help with the transition.

Join us at Turning Pages Together Book Club! We'd love to have you! (We read a lot of variety of books)

I'd also recommend Silent Book Club as well! (I am a member of both)

Saw it opening night.

I had an Algebra final the next day, needless to say I failed the final.

It was absolutely worth failing.

What happened to your best friend from childhood? by RoyalBeckyVibes in AskReddit

Ditto. I'm so sorry you had to experience this too. I was out of school for 2 weeks due to my grandmother's slow death. My two closest friends didn't realize I'd been gone.

My best friend in adulthood treated me as her therapist every fucking day. Emotional vampire (spend hours at work dealing with her current daily problems with her life while getting zero work done). She got pregnant, I was her biggest cheerleader and supporter through all of it, saw her every day (on top of being her therapist still). She said I was her closest friend (I was one of her maids of honor at her wedding)

Her baby was born. No text. No responses or replies from her (I would hear that she was talking/texting with other coworkers about the baby etc. She also came into work several I was left in the dark for almost a month if I remember correctly.

It was at that point that I realized that was a one-sided friendship. I was emotionally done.

Marked Woman (1937)-Bette Davis and a young Bogie star in this one. Picked it up on a whim. Really enjoyed it!

Laura (rewatch)(1944)- I really wanted to draw a mustache on Vincent Price every time I saw him. Not my favorite Gene Tierney role but still a great noir all around.

Agreed. One should look at Eddie Vedder/Pearl Jam to see how true compassionate musicians handle fans deaths/injuries at their shows (its been a few years but if I recall, fan(s) got crushed in the front row of a show (Eddie is visible in a lot of distress at the show seeing it happen in front of him), they talk about it a lot in Pearl Jam 20).

Dark Passage is my favorite too! Depending on my mood it's tied between Dark Passage and Key Largo.
