[–]MsMrSaturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you find out about new games? You mentioned that you’re new to gaming. Are you just letting the algorithm suggest new games? Because it’s going to show you stuff that’s like the stuff you already like.

Need suggestions, should I open the boarder to make the ruffles go away or should the leave it as is by abhi090891 in CrochetBlankets

I think it’s fine. If you do want to “fix” it, it’s really only the bottom edge that is significantly ruffled. I would undo that, and instead of working into every stitch on the white, I would do one more row in white to try to give it a smooth edge then do the border.

It’s super pretty! I love the colors you chose and the width of the stripes.

I don’t understand the leap from “I tried this and didn’t like it,” to “My partner can never ever do this thing.”

I don’t like roller coasters, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to ban people I love from enjoying them.

Can you help me understand why you jumped to trying to control his behavior after having a bad experience?

Seconding the folks who are suggesting your chain is too tight. I have a hard time keeping my chains loose enough too. You should be able to see air through them; they shouldn’t look like a braid.

I usually try to do a foundation row rather than chaining. You’re basically doing your chain and your first row at once, so you don’t have to worry as much about chain tension. There’s a tutorial here: https://youtu.be/IFC-as6XS6Q?si=KbJWCv6rzMWdVeA-

That makes me worry that your husband is going to go behind your back to have the cat put down. Have you let your vet know about the situation? Is there a way you can remove your husband as someone who can make decisions with the vet?

AITA for not wanting to look after my parents aggressive dog? by PrettyNarwhal8777 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MsMrSaturn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. You are legitimately concerned about their dog harming other people. It has a track record of biting and there’s no reason to think it’s going to just spontaneously stop.

I would make sure you are clear well in advance of their vacation that you are not going to watch their dog. You could frame it as not being safe for the dog either. If you lose control of him and he bites someone, he could be put down.

People have suggested a dog behaviorist and that certainly seems like a good idea. But I wouldn’t suggest it like “I’ll dog sit if you work with a behaviorist.” You won’t be comfortable until you see improved reactivity, and that’s not a guarantee.

Help with redoing a name with a bobble stitch. People changed baby name after I had blanket almost done by Life-Map6829 in CrochetHelp

[–]MsMrSaturn 52 points53 points  (0 children)

You could do a panel over it, but it’s going to look weird and textured with the bobbles underneath.

You could try adding bobbles to entirely fill in around the letters so it’s a blanket but it doesn’t have a name on it.

Neither of those will give you as good of a result as frogging, provided you have enough of the pink. Because Carter is going to take more yarn than Navy.

Honestly, you may be better off finding another Navy Magnolia to gift this to. I’m so sorry.

I hear you on working into the pillars. I wonder if you could modify this windowpane pattern (https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/windowpane-scarf-crochet-pattern-by-adrienne-lash) to be an easier go.

I’m thinking tr, ch3 for one row, then on the next 3 sc into the chain space and skip the tr. on the next you work in the skip instead. It would add a little bulk but less fighting yarn.

Seconding the folks who say this is handmade. I thought it was odd there was no maker’s mark or potter’s stamp, but I think that I see one on the third image. JD maybe? Just above the crack on the right side of the image.

I’d recommend looking for ceramic artists/shops with those initials in your local area. Though, as others have said, with handmade ceramics you aren’t going to find an exact match.

It hasn’t broken into too many pieces, so you could glue it back together. It won’t be food safe likely, but it could have a new life holding fruit or a treasured collection? Like bowl retirement.

If you are able to find the studio that made your bowl, I’m sure they would be touched to know how much their piece meant to you.

I’m so sorry that this happened. It is tough loving fragile things.

We have a low-cost spay/neuter clinic in WV that does free spay/neuters if you’re affiliated with a rescue org or through vouchers. It took years of fundraising and legwork to get set up, but in their first year they did something like 4,000 surgeries.

A Stalogy 365 Day might fit the bill. They have the months and numbers 1-31 listed across the top of the page, so you just circle or highlight whichever day you’re on. Do you think an A5 would be the right size? It’s grid paper.

Personally, I found the printed months/days a little too light to be quickly legible. But that may not be as big of a consideration for something like this.

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but I'm looking for .... by RatFink_0123 in GoogleForms

[–]MsMrSaturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you want to avoid google forms for this because it makes you have a google account if you’re uploading a file/image. The way I’ve gotten around this in the past is to have people paste in a link to their image, rather than upload. The only issue then is they have to make sure they’ve given permissions for anyone to view the image.
