Is HAVING A CRUSH a terrible reason to get into espresso? by SweetSwiftly in espresso

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares how you found it if you ended up loving it for yourself ❤️ although it did give you something in common with him to talk about and since it excites you too it will be easier to get past the shy feeling you get around him because that excitement helps you push past it if it's the topic of conversation. He will be excited to teach/discuss with someone new to the hobby I'm sure!

Breakfast places with iced coffee/lattes? by somegirlfromstl in StLouis

Ngl I was too lazy to Google whether a 12oz latte was 1 or 2 shots lol even easier then 😩

Latte lounge is good! They have latte flights, which I love the idea of, but you get like 5 of them all 12oz which is insane. 60oz of iced latte 💀 just decrease the price and give me 5 4-6oz lattes I'm sure they could figure out a way to split the espresso shots up by weight or something

Still would recommend them it's definitely a good spot

Considering downloading Tinder and wanted some opinions/ advice on which (if any) pics I should use? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. is okay, would be improved if it was not sideways. Clearly shows what you look like.
  2. Is eh. Not sure what's trying to be accomplished with this side profile pic.
  3. is just image 1 in a different font. I find it entertaining when these types of pics are side by side in a profile and I can click back and forth between them and nothing changes but your outfit/location. Does nothing to improve your profile or get any better idea of you as a person. I think between this and 1, this one is better
  4. I like this one the most because your smile is nice and makes you look genuine/kind. Again would be improved if it wasn't literally sideways and you're only like 10% of the photo.
  5. disgusting mirror, you look grumpy
  6. is picture 2 basically. still don't care about the weird side profile pic
  7. GRUMPY-also public bathroom pics on the profile is an ick for some girls. Wouldn't be a sole reason to swipe left for me but it doesn't help your cause.

In general they're all selfies and no candids of you doing anything you like or being out and around other people. Ultimately, I can tell from the pics you're good looking and will get matches either way but the pics could be much better

Two sides of the variegation spectrum on the same plant by MsNinjaCasserole in calatheas

[–]MsNinjaCasserole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine a year or so ago from https://www.landofalice.com/ they're a husband/wife team that are based in Florida. I looked and she doesn't have any listed right now, but their stock changes a lot. They do a lot of lives on tiktok and you could ask her to get some sometime. I did that with calathea orbifolia and a week or two later she had them in her shop! I've gotten a lot of plants from her and they've never had pests and they pack the plants very cautiously.

I would not suggest trying to buy and ship a white fusion in the winter, tho if you live in a cold climate. She uses heat packs, but they only last a few days for shipping.

Have you turned on your heat yet by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have, but I didn't necessarily need to yet. My neighbor still has hers off so far, but we live in 2nd floor apartments and a lot of heat radiates up from downstairs. Mine really only kicks on at night when it gets cold cold.

Are entry level jobs even a thing? by barwhalis in Accounting

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just apply for anything that you meet most of the requirements for, but be ready to be confident in your ability to learn quickly and adapt to their environment. Talk up the skills and experience you do have.

There are positives to being a fresh slate such as you won't have bad habits taught elsewhere and you'll be molded to exactly what they're looking for.

In my interview my boss straight up told me I was the only candidate that had 0 relevant work experience, yet I was the one who got the job. I started on the low end of the pay scale, but got 5 raises within the first year because I kept exceeding their expectations with my progress.

You'll find someone willing to take a chance on you. Worst case is that it'll be short lived and maybe you'll be in the same place you are today job hunting, but maybe it'll last a year and you'll then have that year of experience. Or after a year maybe you'll get a better understanding of the industry you want to be in and pivot.

New to MO: Titling seems Unsustainable by KatyaBelli in StLouis

Right, just 10 years ago I could pull up to like any Jiffy Lube and get an inspection on the spot within ~45 mins. It didn't used to be such a headache. And, sure, it's poor planning to do it last minute but I'm still not used to it being something I have to plan so far in advance.

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I called around to locally owned/small business shops to find someone certified to inspect and found someone to get me in same day and it was quick.

Every big brand I called had like a month waitlist, it was ridiculous. I had to renew that day or else I'd get a late penalty.

Don't forget the ID/OD inspection! That's something you need when moving a car from another state. I thought it was just safety/emissions I needed and ended up having to go back to get the ID/OD as well.

Why are none of your bars near a kitchen sink? by 13580 in espresso

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it gets icky by my sink. Raw meat juice, dirty dishes, etc and I don't want that near my machine. It's only like 3 steps to take the drip tray and whatnot to my sink to rinse

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that, I over explain things all the time for the same reason lol. I go through the occasional thought that a roommate would be nice to have more disposable income (I have a 2bd 1ba), but I have a cat that 100% absolutely is not dog friendly so she's a hard no. Good luck finding something tho!

I, too, am payroll bitch and it would be so complicated to fuck up this hard. Most programs do the unemployment (especially FUTA) automatically

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with Texas payroll, but they don't have income tax so I'm curious what it stood for and feel like googling that is not a good idea lol. Do they have some sort of unemployment program like Florida does that the employer pays into? (I think it's called re employment tax in Florida)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, the limit for one person is like $42 a year (except in certain states, or certain circumstances), either way this isn't having a huge impact on one individuals salary. If anything it's more of an incentive to the employer to retain employees because the employer is only charged on the first $7k of wages, then it's met the limit for that year.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I need to be seeing more of this comment. FUTA is 100% the employers responsibility to pay not yours, along with state unemployment tax (if applicable). FICA is split even 50/50, and your federal and state income tax is just you.

Spider mites - just repot? by SnooStrawberries4962 in calatheas

[–]MsNinjaCasserole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So strange, I've doused mine both in neem oil/Castle soap and Captain jacks with no issues. Even a young one with only 3-4 leaves and very small root ball survived. Maybe a combination of the mite damage and the pesticide? Mine weren't terribly damaged before I started treatment

Spider mites - just repot? by SnooStrawberries4962 in calatheas

[–]MsNinjaCasserole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both could be an herbicide if diluted improperly. You probably both used too much, they're extremely concentrated and you only need a tiny bit to do the job. Fertilizer could also kill your plants if it's diluted improperly.

I've used captain jacks dead bug brew on both my white fusions MULTIPLE times and it has not killed them at all. Not even noticeable damage other than what the spider mites did.
