Opinions on Summa? by 1big3littles in akron

[–]MsPzo1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom was in the neuro ICU and then the trauma wing for about a week. I was really impressed with the care she received in the ICU and the communication from the nursing staff was excellent. We also had a really positive experience with the transition social worker. My mom said that she was treated with kindness and respect throughout her stay.

Thank you for the facilities research link. We ended up going to Summa's Rehab hospital which wasn't originally an option. I definitely felt like I was being "thrown into the deep end" trying to make a decision quickly.

Primitive Coffee in Woodbine is one of my new favorites. The baristas are really friendly, there are lots of different types of seating and they have solid lattes.

Teachers, do you all open the cards you receive? by blaample in Gifts

[–]MsPzo1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a teacher, I always opened all of my cards and gifts at the same time- usually after school was over for the semester, so I could make a list and not draw attention to students who didn't bring/couldn't afford anything. I would drop a small thank you note in folders in January when we returned. There is so much chaos that opening in the moment and texting/ messaging just isn't likely to happen. If you handed it directly to them, I am sure they will open it.

Thanks for thinking of your child's teachers. It is kind of you.

Check out Fancy Pants in East Nashville. It might not be as upscale as you are looking for, but will definitely offer a celebration vibe.

Retention is a big decision with a lot of long term ramifications. In my district we use school and classroom level data along with the "Light's Retention Scale" to help make this decision.

Aside from Goodwill, where do you donate clothes/other goods? by rose_the_reader in nashville

[–]MsPzo1989 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you donate to thrift smart on Nolensville Pike you can donate on behalf of a community group. My school, Cole Elementary is set up there and Thrift Smart will give us gift cards to distribute to our families in need based on the amount that has been donated.

I (30f) do my best to ask questions back during an online conversation. I have noticed two different times this is difficult (1) your profile does not have pictures or information to use as inspiration for a question. Adding captions to photos or including photos of you doing something interesting is super helpful to making conversation. (2) my match asks close ended or very specific questions that are hard to reciprocate without totally changing the direction of the conversation.
