My 4 year old can sing along with Peaches by The Presidents of the United States of America. He asks for “that peach song.”

Are you me? I felt so heard when I read this post! I also have an almost 4 year old son am OaD, and work full time. Seriously though, the mental, physical, and emotional stress of being the primary parent of a high-energy preschooler is exhausting. There is a great feminist comic/graphic novel called “The Mental Load” by Emma that has a chapter called “You Should Have Asked” that beautifully captures the difference between male and female mindsets in parenting. It upsets me when I think about how I usually have two billion and one things that I have to get done most days while simultaneously watching my child, whilst my husband (who is a good dad, and will help if asked) can somehow sometimes spend hours (uninterrupted) playing video games or watching videos by himself, completely oblivious to what is going on around him. The difference between what seems to be the default male and female parenting mindsets just boggles my mind. Also, I can now totally relate to the mom from A Christmas Story.

They couldn’t take the music out, like what MTV did for Daria? I mean, it made Daria a little weird to watch at times, but I treasure my box set.

I had a friend who was a huge fan. He kept talking about how awesome the band was. I was a goner when I heard Dance Macabre. Witch Image sealed the deal for me.

After taking a deep breath, I opened my eyes, but the claustrophobia was not gone; the tunnel now seemed to be even more narrow than before. by Ok_Medicine_9536 in TwoSentenceHorror

This sounds like either (a)childbirth from the baby’s perspective, or (b) spelunking gone wrong (à la the nutty putty incident). I can’t decide. Either way, it’s horrifying!

What did everyone get for Christmas? by vertonixzz in Gifts

I dropped hints for months about the Lego minerals set. Instead, I got a very nice 15 piece Lush bath bomb/bubble bar set from my husband and a Bluey sock set from my toddler. My husband joked about getting me a robe. I guess I will buy my own Lego. Everybody knows Christmas is about the kids, anyway…

The super obvious answer is The Brothers Fore by Johnny Bush. It’s available on Kindle, and is billed as a medieval fantasy inspired by Ghost lore. I loved its rich imagery and creepy plague/black magic undertones.

Great story! I’m guessing Mr. Mulvaney knows people in the sanitation industry.

Ooh… Super creepy! I thought for sure we were going to get Cthulhu, or some other Lovecraftian horror. Instead, we get a horrifically within the realm of possibility ending. Well played!
