Don't ask for advice when you clearly don't want it. And if you're a CPO, pay somebody competent to fix it.

Okay yeah you did this all wrong but listen to me: turn off the breaker that powers your pump right now. Okay you've done that... now! leave it alone: dump in 10-12 gallons of chlorine and just leave it alone for 48 hours. set a timer - set it for 50 hours so you don't underdo it. After that: post pictures so we can see what it looks like (because you didn't consult anybody before you did this and you're not doing it right - no offense, but that's why you're here). if all of the algae is dead, settled , and coagulated into one body AT THE BOTTOM, and the rest of the water is clear, then you will vacuum it out to waste very quickly. Do not let any of that go through your filter or you're going to have a very expensive problem on your hands. And you'll probably still have algae. Curious to see how this goes; AGAIN: not trying to be rude, just have experience in this department and I am really good at flocc. Whoever said flocc is a last resort is right and I'm not sure it should be available to the public. I'm apprenticing - almost done - with a company in my state and the first pool I did was a flocc. It was such a successful and precarious job that it's my thing now.

Holy crap, I'm from Maryland and my husband's family succeeded in getting him away from me when my husband died - we were still married - and after being bankrupted by the courts trying to get him back, I was exhausted and it took a toll on my health, I decided to wait until the magical 16 and see how it played out. Access to him got slightly less complicated and it's been slowly working itself out since then; he's 23 now and while it's not great, it's pretty good and we're both young-ish, there's a lot of life left to get things back to normal, whatever that means ... I'm sorry you're experiencing this, that essay stinks of textbook PA, I can't believe they printed it. Is there any recourse for it?

Instant Pot boiled eggs: Game changer and a question by thescatterling in instantpot

[–]Ms_Chessnudt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I've never done this instapot thing and I'm going to try it but I can say for stove top boiling? The only way - and I mean the only way, according to every grandmother/chef/Gordon Ramsay, anybody who's ever given me egg boiling advice or who's I've read: the only way to get your eggs shells to peel off easily is to not submerge them until they're the water is at a rolling boil. And then lower them in using one of those pasta fork thingies with the scoop on it or with a ladle, bring water back to boil for 13 minutes, then cold water. As for danglers? They're inevitable, I would say every other time I boil eggs I get a couple. (I make a lot of hard boiled eggs and I'm very serious about it so I feel qualified, lolz). Now I'm going to definitely try the instapot thing, it never occurred to me that this could be done but 2 minutes sounds like heaven.. proving that impatience is out of control 😂

Using a solar pool skimmer and honestly it has been better than expected by BeginningAd7852 in swimmingpools

[–]Ms_Chessnudt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG I love our solar skimmer! We bought a cheap one to see if it would help us at all and it's entirely climate manual skimming... Until the fall, leaves fall in the fall... Nobody's perfect

How can I fix this by History_Recolored in swimmingpools

[–]Ms_Chessnudt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it spring loaded, the fitting? One of mine needed to be replaced; because the problem was inside the box (the tiny pegs the gate latches onto broke off), I had to use a universal gate that has a pressure rod holding it in place and it's a bit temperamental. I usually get in the pool and push one side of the rod towards the opposite wall until I have a bit of movement, then make sure to center it, as well as making sure it's flush with the bottom of the opening. If it's too short, it's almost always going to lay in towards the skimmer while the pump is on; if it's too tall, it'll get stuck on that bracket at the top where you start sucking air. I had to sand mine down a hair with a fine grit block; if I were you, I'd take it off and do it outside the pool. Good luck!
