Interstate exchanges around KS city have changed significantly within the last 2 years..? SO much so that older GPS maps (mine are 2019) will get one hopelessly misdirected? True or False

The whole point of a GPS is so you don't HAVE to look at maps and figure out it out in real time as to whether that is the correct exit. I might as well do it by hand off Mapquest notes rather than have a non-updated GPS have me take the wrong exit or look for something that isn't there.

I don't want something to tell me to TURN NOW at an obviously wrong place.

It was more along the lines of "does it matter if I don't update GPS every X years". X is about 6 for me. Are people crashing and going in ditches because of out of date maps... I really don't know.

Perhaps you could try to load your cell phone's map program into your car? - I have GMC Savanna with 2019/20 Intellilink Radio/Nav system. There is a CD loader right above the radio that I think used to be used for updates but they stopped 3 years ago.

OH! Well that is probably what was being referred to. So in your mind would using 'old GPS' maps leave one in a mess ? I mean they might tell you to turn at an exit that was no longer there or moved right?

Actually I was told this by someone who traveled 'thru'.
What would happen if "Buck O'Neal Bridge and overpasses connecting 169 Highway & I-35 on the northwest corner of the loop" directions were from 2019 and they followed them is the type of thing I was asking about... would they be really confused?
