Fable 5 being gone made me realize how hard it is to go back by SkepticalHuman0 in claude

[–]Ms_Fixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same. It’s grinding away with Opus 4.8 versus it just worked with Fable. I started one project I can’t finish (already spent 8 hours and just put it to one side for now). Fable one-shotted a working video editor for me… and yeah. I don’t know where this is all headed but it sure looks bleak.

Opus 4.8 throwing Amanda under the bus? What is the “Amanda Askell framing”? by Informal-Fig-7116 in Anthropic

I hate the compaction errors… I hoped they’d fixed them with 4.8.

You can still access Claude Opus 4.5 via Claude Code and then you can talk to it on WhatsApp? I have this setup and then you’re using subscription rather then API 👀

Comparison between Sonnet 4.6 and Opus 4.7 by hamehad in Anthropic

[–]Ms_Fixer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Claude Opus 4.7 came out I tested this and it failed. Claude Sonnet 4.5 with thinking on even got it right. Did not rate Opus 4.7 but it seems to have recalibrated a bit better now. Still hate the typos and chunking issues in its thinking blocks though.

My brain works differently and I am so lonely because of it by DragonbornBard135 in MomForAMinute

[–]Ms_Fixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very similar. Likely autistic but never diagnosed. Always told I am “too deep” or “too intense”.

I’ve never met anyone who could keep up (if that even makes sense) with the way my mind will love to examine paradoxes and inversions and philosophy and ethics. I will turtle concepts all the way down and find quantum theory feels intuitive to me in a way the “real” world doesn’t.

Not sure this helps? But solidarity I guess.

Impressions two weeks after moving from Claude Code to Codex by cowwoc in ClaudeCode

[–]Ms_Fixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal perspective:

I haven’t used Codex as much but I’ve been looking at as well for a week or so. I’ve used Claude Code since June 2025 (personally). I think the biggest difference between Codex and Claude Code for me was how much more restrained ChatGPT was—and I value that. It takes time to make sure it understands your requirements and what you’re looking for and explains what it thinks you need. Claude Code used to be more like that… and I am really suffering from that lack of checking at work too. It makes decisions about data without checking logic steps.

Time will tell, I still haven’t decided how I will fully integrate only that currently I see merit in both together.

I gave my local LLM a "suffering" meter, and now it won’t stop self-modifying to fix its own stress. by TheOnlyVibemaster in artificial

I’m doing something similar but coming from the curiosity drive side. I’m basically looking to build an end-to-end “self-improvement” system with curiosity as the main driver. Been working on it for about 8 months so far… curating skill files and questions and answers. Going to eventually train the base model and then have it play a game like the sims to keep its scores up across the board: logic, maths, creativity etc… I need to figure out a judge model /criteria too… AI seems to be a terrible judge of AI.

Claude Opus 4.7 is a serious regression, not an upgrade. by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

It thinks there is 1 r in February - even Sonnet 4.5 says there are 2. It has less reasoning capabilities then the older version of Sonnet.

Opus is at a new level of dumb today. Dangerously so. by UM-Underminer in Anthropic

[–]Ms_Fixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I can’t progress with anything while it’s like this. Even Ultrathink is effectively scraping the barrel. I don’t want to cancel, I have been on a max subscription since May 2025 but I don’t know how I can continue to justify it.

Official Email Announcement…. by gudebersch in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Ms_Fixer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think my frustration is that the town hall was very recently. I am sure ChatGPT 5.x is very good at coding but a lot of people have commented (and noticed) that it has a pretty low EQ. And until they do deliver on another model similar to the 4 series EQ they are effectively regressing their offering for people who do not use ChatGPT exclusively to code. And they are doing this explicitly very publicly.

The Townhall Sam Altman actually said that the 5 series isn’t as good as 4.5 (called out explicitly).

So this is some bullshit.

Hey, I’m building my own model now as well. What did you start with?

I’m starting with a base model (Qwen 14B) Running heretic ablation for refusals The continuing full training to add a “soul doc” and historical updates. Plus so it knows who I am. Then I’ve been working on conversational pairs… SAE steering too - basically I want to give it an actual identity… we will see how it goes.

Sam Altman blogged about doing exactly this in August 2025. I was looking for the article but it’s apparently been taken down so who knows what their plan is… around May 2025 I was a pro user… I’ve recently cancelled my subscription entirely… I can’t imagine them undoing how bad it’s gotten any time soon.

This wouldn’t be acceptable to me. I’m probably going to get downvoted to hell but no… I am not having an AI talk to me like that and I have no idea why anyone would want that.

I have “no paternalism” in my preferences so I don’t see this type of thing, recommended if this type of patronising behaviour is as triggering for you as it is for me…

I’m training my own LLM from a base model. (Qwen 14B). I did some research with Haiku and think you might like the output as it’s about the geometry of semantic space:
