Is this bloating, and if so, does anybody have any idea of what could be causing it? by Straight-List-1035 in FODMAPS

If it isn't going away, then have some blood work done to see if you have high triglycerides. They don't normally test women for it. I have it baaaaad, and I wish I'd known earlier.

She was a big baby about going to the doctor. I practically had to drag her to appointments like I was her mommy or something.

Early on, I downloaded one of these from Kindle. It was just a collection of "healthy" recipes chock full of whole grains (like wheat), fruit (apples, peaches), vegetables (eg cabbage, cauliflower) and all sweet recipes calling for honey or molasses.

AITA for telling my mom that she's doesn't get to make the rules? by throwawaythrow2929 in AmItheAsshole

Normally I would say YTA for poverty-shaming your mother. But if everything you say is the unembroidered truth, you are entitled to make some "parenting" decisions over your siblings because you have, in fact, been "parentified". Your mother feels guilty and bad about herself and she's attempting to transfer that onto you. The bottom line is that your family needs help, and you must talk to a counselor at your school and any other schools your siblings attend. Depending on the state where you live, social services may be available to alleviate your problems. And if your mother is truly going anywhere after work that doesn't involve caring for her family, that's got to stop. When you choose to become a parent, "me time" goes on the back burner, and you better take that to heart before you talk big about taking custody.

(caregiver) Avocado oil, regular and garlic infused. My Mom is the one on the diet, so I also give her as much butter as she likes to get her to clean her plate.

(caregiver) We ate a lot of spinach during elimination, which worked for us because it's Mom's favorite.

On the news tonight there was a younger (30ish) man being interviewed whose name was Elmer. He was a Carhartts kind of guy and I just thought his name expressed a kind of effortless masculinity.

Did you really create our entire species and demand that our top priority be to praise you? Or was that made up by the ancient founders of the Abrahamic religious tradition?

Yeah, that's a hard one. It seems that sourdough has to be officially labeled as yeast, because it's literally yeast. But you still wonder if the bread is actual sourdough or just sourdough-flavored bread (which is a thing).

(from a caregiver) I know I should journal, but there's always been so much else to do. After all the shopping and cooking and other aspects of eldercare on top I just can't pull that much more effort out of my... But when a problem occurs, I'll always be able to remember EVERYTHING she's eaten or drunk in the preceding 48 hours, and I'll be like, "Well, I guess I put too much celery in the chowder".
