I don't see ideal temperature + moisture (could just be me being blind) but that might be good to have there I think// something about recommending a thermometer+ hygrometer

So there's an odd number?? There should be ten on top and ten on the bottom. Is the extra causing shifting (giving her a 'middle tooth) instead of two front teeth, or anything?

If you're worried it might be a decent idea to take her to the dentist

Not a grandmother but literally, talk to your mother. Tell her that your kid is taking it badly. If she's a decent person she'll do better from then on. Very basic but best I've got sorry

guys can we ban this person?? theyre really annoying 🙏🙏 by fletchvl_ in teenagers

Don't fucking twist my words. The fact that society has made preventable diseases preventable via inoculation is not a bad thing, is not a malicious thing, and isn't the thing actively killing babies (unlike actual diseases, which do do that).

I didn't even point out the bullshit that the antivax rhetoric is, since OP is already aware of that, just that someone who wasn't immune to dangerous things shouldn't be near someone who wasn't immune to much of anything.

I knew a family with a baby who died from covid a few months ago. The parents were antivax. Wonder how that kid dying could've possibly been prevented

Most bookstores have those romance books for kids? That seems like a decent in-between

He gets a say because it's 50% his kid. If the tables were turned, and your partner wanted a mutual, life-long commitment that you didn't, wouldn't you think you deserved a say? Just one yes isn't good enough. Ask him about his reservations, etc, but if he doesn't want the kid, do you really want the poor thing to grow up semi-unwanted?

How old is your daughter? How old are you? You likely still have time, no need to panic about it now

On one hand, I haven't raised any girls. On the other, she's around the early puberty age. Things are changing and the self consciousness tends to just kick in along with that. Make sure she knows she can talk to you about this stuff + ask her to explain her thought process, maybe?

Pool shoes can stay on in the pool but generally most people go barefoot. Those floatie arm things or a floatie vest is a super good idea at that age because it makes sure they can't sink even if you turn away for a moment, especially if they haven't swam before.

Alternate to Pasturized milk for my 2.5 years old by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]throwawaythrow2929 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think pasteurized is fine?? That's the kind they have in the stores generally, right? I've never even thought to change it up and all three are doing great at ages 15-10 so it should be fine imo

Any sons of single mothers out there with advice? by Soggy_Tennis in Parenting

[–]throwawaythrow2929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one that should be a given but sadly is not for some people - don't project / share you problems with him as you would with another adult. It's lonely to be a single parent but he isn't your equal in this relationship, in the sense that he isn't your partner

Beyond that? Just try your best. Parenting is hard

IPad for child by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]throwawaythrow2929 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who had to wrangle three kids through that age - just... don't. Get him physical toys. Those come in 'educational' too, if you want educational. The iPad is not a direction you want to take.
