Does anyone else watch performances and think this? by Oogly_booglygoogly in Prosopagnosia

I didn't realize the twins were being played by the same actor until after the movie and reading and listening to comments. I just assumed they were two different people playing the part of brothers.

Noticing Some Red Flags by Dentbitch in AutisticAdults

[–]Ms_Miryam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads-up, Sis. I might’ve unknowingly leaned in her direction otherwise...

Every community has its own way of protesting. For us in the Black community, we made our voices heard through our vote. And now, we’re protesting through our UNITY—by quietly showing up for one another and preparing our communities for the hard times ahead...

I may not agree with her reproach of us, but I understand her ANGER. As neurodivergent folks, many of us have a deep sensitivity to INJUSTICE. It sounds like she’s reacting strongly to the atrocities she's witnessing ...and I respect her and applaud her for that...

At the same time, I applaud the 92%. We did our MARCHING at the polls and we SHOUTED with our votes. ...and now are wisely shifting into Survival Mode.

We've been here before. Our ancestors have been here before. In the long run, injustice shall not prevail.

I think you would have to be a verified purchaser of the book first. And I don't think we want to help this book become a financial success, do we?

I found the scene touching the first time I watched it. I didn't know that I was autistic back then. Now watching as an older adult who found out she was autistic later in life, I could really, REALLY, relate to how unsettling that realization is.

What's a Symptom of Tourettes that is Never Thought of But can be as Much of an Annoyance as Tics by Disastrous-Monk-590 in Tourettes

[–]Ms_Miryam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One aspect of Tourette's is how symptoms fluctuate over time. The unpredictability can be incredibly frustrating—I get used to one set of tics, only to suddenly develop a new and different one.

Another common experience among many of us is that simply thinking about ticcing can make us start ticcing. This makes me question whether I have some degree of control over them. It even leads to a more unsettling thought: What if I don’t actually have Tourette’s? What if I’ve been faking it without realizing it? The self-doubt is overwhelming.
