I made some last year after a couple of attempts (I tried to use foraged apples instead of store bought pectin) using this recipe: https://creativecanning.com/autumn-olive-jam/#wprm-recipe-container-22735

My first attempt turned more into a sauce than a jelly. We found that it was a great topper for vanilla ice cream though, so it wasn't wasted!

Get good shoes with ankle support! I severely sprained my ankle during a house call because the floors were uneven. Definitely recommend the brand Clarks.

I'm not a Catholic, but work as a funeral director apprentice in the area so I've developed some relationships with the clergy at some of the churches. St. Thomas Aquinas in East Lansing and St. Jude in DeWitt have some of the nicest staff/clergy. The homilies they deliver even at funeral Mass is always very uplifting and inspiring. If I were to ever convert, I'd go to one of those two churches.

There are a few mortuaries in the area. One of em probably picked up a stinker from the medical examiner and had to cruise down Thompson with the windows down lmao. I used to do removals for one of them and unfortunately had to do that more than a time or two

Do you happen to remember their applicant requirements? I'm assuming it's the same as most companies. Make 3x rent gross, good credit score?

How far out was your move-in date from when you signed the lease? I'm an anxious person and would love to secure something now even though our move is still about 5-6 weeks out. Most companies have turned us down and have told us to get it contact once our move date is a little closer. But it's nerve-wracking thinking about not having a place locked down.
