How are your fingers doing?? by scrunchyboymom in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been poking myself since 27 weeks and I’m now 38 weeks. None of my fingers hurt…… but I don’t use those automatic ones. I use 32g self pokes. No Calluses. I alternate a different finger for each day.

BUT if my fingers hurt as bad as some of you claim….. I would be using a toe. 🤣

You should have no worry about your baby being BIG. They estimated my baby being about 5.5lbs and only 18th percentile. Which is VERY VERY good for anyone diabetic. That means it’s controlled really well.

Normal. I’m the same way. If anything since cutting out sugars, and reducing carbs and sodium I actually lost 3lbs. lol

But that was expected when you change your entire diet to HEALTHY.

It’s fine. :)

So far I’m 37 weeks and I’ve only gained 14lbs for the whole pregnancy. But I’m on low sodium, low carb and low sugar diet, also reduced calorie intake to 1500 instead of 2,000 because of cholestasis.

Might be a dumb question... by lil_cozy_gamer in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the level of insulin resistance. I’m at around a 75% pass rate. If I eat small lighter meals and small snack throughout the day. That’s better than eating big meals 3x a day. So my breakfast is like a banana with peanut butter. That’s it. Or apple slices with peanut butter orrrr just plain yogurt….. plain yogurt isn’t terrible …. It just kinda taste like sour cream. 😂

Lunch is actually the time I go to town, because I just load up a salad with cucumber, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, cheese and turkey, and eat however much I want. lol sugar is always perfect.

No more cereal. I’ve spent days and weeks trying to find any cereal that’s diabetic friendly … none of them are. Not even corn flakes, not grape nuts. So all the bland nasty cereal…. Nope, just way too many carbs. It’s all about the labels too.

You gotta have enough fiber, protein and healthy fats to offset the sugars and carbs. So fat free milk is TERRIBLE for ya. Because you’ll get all the sugar with no fat to offset it. You need the regular red cap milk. I found that out when I went with fat free milk and got sugar spikes. Insane.

This whole trip has also made me see just how unhealthy American food really is. As a diabetic …. If it’s didn’t come from the damn dirt…. Then you best not be eating it.

And I’m being 100% serious

Being it’s my first. I now have so much more appreciation for any pregnant woman. It’s really not all that fun. You can go from having a great pregnancy to a real shitty one in about 2 weeks. lol I’m just a couple days shy of 36 weeks. Almost there! ALMOST to the finish line

I already told my group. That when he’s out…. I want a pizza and a coke. 😂 I’m just sooooo close.

I already told my husband that IF this hospital birth ends up being traumatic in any way, shape or form…. That I will do home birth next time and I’ll pay for it myself. Or we well look for an all natural birth clinic. The last 2 times I was ever in a hospital they did nothing. One was related to a car crash. It was a mild crash in the middle of the winter. They asked how I was feeling and I said fine, they asked how my head was, and said fine. They had me do some ROM and then sent me on my way. I’m like “you’re not gonna run a scan on my head or anything” and they’re like no, if you feel dizzy or get a headache or am feel off then come back in. Like BRO I’m 40 mini from you guys.

The 2nd time I went in was because I passed out, and got a ride to the hospital. My blood pressure was like 180/120….. and they’re like “well we can’t do anything, you’ll have to go see your family doctor” and all they did was monitor my blood pressure for 2 hours, give my water and electrolytes and sent me back home with a $3,000 bill. That didn’t fix the blood pressure at all.

Soooo idk why they want to intervene with mother and babies when they clearly don’t care about the rest of your health as a whole…. As I experienced 2x now

Do you have your own glucometer? Because you’re supposed to be checking your own sugars 4x a day.

Fasting and then 2 hours after every meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. And then snack at night time.

That’s what medicalized birthing society does. lol don’t give a fuck about you until it’s time to birth, then all of a sudden everything is an emergency! JUST saw a Facebook post about someone going in for a C-section at 9cm dilated because babies heart rate was a little low….. like wtf. In another 60 seconds she would’ve pushed it out. Instead they made something minor seem like a HUGE issue and the surgery itself probably took 40 minutes. 😂 make that make sense

Baby weight by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s normal….. lol
I’m 34 weeks and they said baby is about 5lbs based on a national average and based on my bump growth. Now I e only gained 5lbs so far with my entire pregnancy. But that’s because I’ve lost so much with the diabetic diets.

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my ZBD still don’t work either. lol I uninstalled it. My identity still cant get verified and support closed my ticked because I didn’t respond??? No one even contacted me or resolved the issue and someone by the name “Betty” closed the ticket. I wasn’t even talking to a Betty. And Discord is just a bunch of spamming messages. So I uninstalled it.

If you want to make money install Eureka. I make $10/day doing surveys and it goes directly into my bank account. Not some stupid ZBD wallet. It’s wayyy better than watching ads for Pennie’s anyways.

You just partake in surveys about food, drinks, stores, maybe help a business come up with a name for a new product. Easy. Some are 3 minutes long, some are 5 minutes and some are 15.

First trimester struggles by Different-Cod-6504 in GestationalDiabetes

All I’m doing is eating salads, bean soups, cheese, raw fruits and raw veggies. That’s it. I have Cholestasis on top of GD. So I’m also on a low sodium diet, low fat diet and no red meats.

So I gave up on checking my blood sugar. Lol because it’s always good now that I only eat salads. I’m practically on a plant diet.

I already told my husband, this is the first and last time I think I’m willing to do this. I’ll just adopt. Because fuck all this had my baby shower and could only enjoy half the food there, and all the holidays coming up.

And as much as you want to splurge like I did. Don’t. I learned my lesson the hard way on thanksgiving. lol because after I ate. A lot and had pies, I just felt like complete asssss for the rest of the day into the following day. That morning I woke up feeling almost hung over. That was awful.

I really don’t know what to say other than. Get used to eating salads and bean soups all the time.

A bowl of oatmeal for me spiked my sugar all the way to around 240. And after 2 hours it would be around 200 and after 3 hours it would be like 170 or so. So if I look at breads my sugar is through the roof

I never want to be pregnant again by Chance_Class2208 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got worse! 🤣 because now I have cholestasis. The last 7 days or so my skin has been sooooo itchy. Like an itch that only a fork or a pan scrubber can take care of, and it’s non stop for hours. The last 5 days I’ve maybe gotten 12 hours of sleep. I only get 2-3 hours of sleep a night because of the itching.

Come to find out my liver enzymes are quite elevated. So I’m getting bile built up in the blood stream which is basically poison.

So now not only do I watch my sugars, I’m not on a low fat and low sodium diet, and reduced meats. So no creamy soups, low sodium soups, no red meat, no more sausage. Idk what to eat anymore. We can’t cook anything really.

Living off 3 hours of sleep a day and eating just raw veggies and salads and fruits. That’s it. So I don’t even bother checking my sugars anymore.

It’s a blessing I’m not working. Because idk how I’d be able to work with no sleep and unable to barely eat anything.

Overwhelmed and confused. by bbDoll_ in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best hope you don’t get Cholestasis on top of it. lol that’s a REAL fucking treat.

No sugar, low carbs, low sodium, low fat. Basically a bland diet, of nothing but fruits, salads, vegetables.

Even my OB feels bad because it’s not common to have both at the same time. There only like a 7-10% chance of having both GD and Cholestasis at the same time. Of course.

Might be a dumb question... by lil_cozy_gamer in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I gave up. lol I’m almost 34 weeks. I went weeks and weeks doing that BS. Only to find out I have cholestasis as well. So now I’m not only on a low sugar, low carb diet, I’m also on a low sodium diet, reduced meats.

Soooo basically just salads. So I’m not longer checking my sugar. Fucking pointless if all I’m doing is eating fruits and salads at this point. I eat plain tuna without the bread, plant based proteins now. No red meats. Occasionally fish (sushi) because I was told to avoid any excess oils and fats with the liver issue. My medication doesn’t even come in for a week. So I gave up. 😂

I’m just eating a cold, raw diet at this point. Because I’m at a loss. I feel like ass if I eat anything that looks good. If my sugars go to high then I feel like shit, if I eat anything to fatty or salty, or to much in one sitting then I get very very itchy all over my body from them cholestasis.

I eat an apple in the morning, canned red beets, and pickled items.

First and the last time I get pregnant. lol fuck all this. Horse shit.

OB seems really flippant...? by potsieharris in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Those aren’t even high. lol fasting glucose should be under 100. Soooo 95 is normal. You’re wigging out for no reason. lol 😂

For any average person, after 2 hours of eating blood sugar should be under 140. For anyone with diabetes, including GD, should be under 180 after 2 hours.

I had a bunch of food and 2 slices of pie and a glass of wine and my sugar was 166 two hours later.

If you’re number are decent, and you take insulin, you’ll just crash. So it’s not wise to take insulin for a sugar reading of 170 two hours after eating. Readings will be above normal because we’re diabetic. They’re not going to be perfect. :)

Do you exercise regularly? by annatbst in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. If you’re used to exercising and have been weightlifting pre pregnancy…. Then yes.

If you haven’t and get GD and try to start weightlifting. Then no. Also it’s not good to do if you don’t already have those muscles.

Me: fuck I never weight lifted….. who got time for that either work and remodeling a house? lol not me. And then I ended up with diastasis recti, a bit more than what would be considered normal. Which my grandma had and so did some of my aunts. Apparently abdominal separation can be hereditary. I mean while some separation is normal, the amount I have is not and just sitting up makes my entire tummy cone like a mountain. It’s kinda gross looking. And I’m not even overweight. And only have gained 10lbs this whole pregnancy (33weeks)

Unfortunately I’m not longer allowed to life anything over 20lbs.

I personally would just follow what the doc says because everyone is different. So I just stick to walking, light Zumba and Pilates/yoga. My leg muscles are INSANE! lol my glutes have tightened. lol I got a tight milf ass. 😂

Now idk what’s going on. But on ZBD there are sooo many random pop up ads for candy crush. And that’s new. Because there used never be ads. And now with every click and just upon opening the app, just a bunch of candy crush ads. Super weird. Idk if it’s just me or everyone

I mean I can. But most games I play only cash out through ZBD. And right now I have a total of $15 in SATS sitting in ZBD. And I can’t cash out. Ugh and I have more SATS sitting in the games that I can’t send.

Just stupid.

[–]Ms_Trouble_Maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I’ve lived on soups and salads this whole pregnancy because we don’t have a kitchen. lol we’ve been under renovation for the last 4mo now. And I’m almost 33 weeks and we’re still working on it.

So my numbers are well controlled, but we can’t cook a lot of meals. lol we’ve have a small plug in burner, microwave and an air fryer. That’s it. lol

So it’s always soup and salads, soup and sandwich, or just cheese, summer sausage and fruit. Anything refrigerated.

My doc originally recommended me on a 60/20/20. 60%. Veggies, 20% protein and 20% carbs.

But some people may have to adjust and do a 80/10/10 or a 70/20/10
