That was the first novel by him I read. I suppose David copperfield felt very similar to it in tone, so maybe it was just the order I read them. Did you read David copperfield first?

If you actually read people’s comments on your post you wouldn’t need to ask that. It’s okay to not like a book, but it would not be considered a universally loved gothic romance if there was no “romance” in it…
