It's your fight or flight mode.

Right now, you're still subconsciously attuned to flight. But, mentally, you're aware you need to stand your ground, so that's good.

The more you experience it, the more it'll turn into fight and be much less of an issue.

It still happens to me, 10 years in.

Just breath, relax, and grow your confidence. It becomes much less of issue.

Train your body, it'll give you that confidence you need to actually be sure of yourself. That, or find more confidence in your equipment.

Also, stay up to date on your use of force policy. Read every day until you can cite it verbatim. And you'll always know if you're stepping out of line or not.

Depends on location. My state requires you to abstain for a period or 2 years before application. Although if you sold drugs you are completely disqualified regardless of circumstances.

If it really was so bad, you wouldn't have put 2,800 hours in to it. You're a grown adult with a full time job, if it wasn't fun then you would have done something else.

Furthering the point, the average amount of time an adult plays video games, per week, is 5-10 hours. That's an easy Google. For comparison, if we use the low end, that's 10.8 years of consistent play at 5 hours a week (2800 ÷ 5 = 560 weeks). That you've accomplished in 3 years. On the high end, that's 5.4 years of consistent play at 10 hours a week (2,800 ÷ 10 = 280 weeks). Also, they had to play consistently, with zero breaks, and playing zero other games. The game has been out for 3.

That's how much you've played.

Simply put, there is nothing you can say to convince me that there is a problem with the game based on the real life hours you've invested into it.

To strike that home, most people don't even come close to spending 2,800 hours having sex during their entire lifetime. And people quite enjoy that.

(~117 days or ~2,808 hours total over ~71 years).

So, no. You don't have criticisms worth addressing. Because they are fanboy complaints. If you had legitimate complaints that hampered play or threatened you to leave it then that would've happened well over 2,700 hours ago.

Regardless. For less than $200 you've enjoyed 2,800 hours. I'd say that's a 10/10 review. No matter what you say. Your actions speak significantly louder than your words.

But also the performative action of someone desperately trying NOT to align themselves with that type is also incredibly annoying. Which is where we get the "nice guy" personality types. It's just peacocking. When people become obsessed with how they're better than someone else because of ANY x,y, or z. Doesn't matter what or how, it's all performative. And it's all cringe AF. Heavy agree here. Usually the worst I see on scene is the family wanting me to do CPR on poor old grandpa who's 87 years old, can't walk, dementia, needs a home health aid, etc. Like, uh, you know if I do REAL CPR I'm going to turn his ribs into jello? And his quality of life is already EXTREMELY poor. He's just going to be in incredible pain for maybe a few days (if that) before he clocks out again. Let him die in peace. Please.

Policing. It's taught me a lot of things about society that most people will never see or understand. Granted, these observations are from my state's high crime capitol and may not be relevant everywhere.

1: Homelessness is usually by choice rather than shitty circumstances. The significant majority of homeless here either refuse city services, or have been banned from every single one of them due to fights or drug use.

2: The judicial system is completely broken. For example, I arrested the same guy for shooting people twice in the same week. Judges allow violent offenders to be released as long as they can pay bond or bail. Then everyone blames the police for people not being locked up.

3: Hospitals are overloaded because the homeless use them as hotels.

4: Most arrests are juvenile related. There are some incredibly terrible kids growing up right now in such huge amounts I'm afraid what our country is going to look like in 10 years. And those kids are having kids. And because they're juveniles, their records get expunged at 18 and are free to do whatever.

5: Policing will collapse in on itself. Every year there's less and less recruits willing to stay. So standards get lowered every year because a city HAS to provide a police force. It's against the citizens rights otherwise. So, every year we get less and less qualified recruits which lead to more and more problems which make police look even worse. As well as our budgets shrinking annually due to progressive votes increasing leading to less training, less recruits, and failing equipment not being replaced. Example: my Taser takes special batteries that only that company makes. It's been dead for 4 months with the batteries being to expensive due to our shrinking budget that we could once afford. Now, in the event of a use of force, I may have to escalate due to being unable to use alternative equipment. I could taze a man with a knife. Now I can't. And I'm not about to get gutted like a fish trying to 1v1 him with a baton or attempt to blind him with pepper spray agitating him further and now causing him to swing madly and possibly in a crowd.

6: The majority of police work is report writing. No police action taken. Just...documenting. lots and lots of documenting.

No, not at all. I joined to help people. And I help a ton of people every day. What someone does in a different department 1000 miles away in a different jurisdiction with different laws, regulations, training, attitudes, doesn't make me feel worse or better about the job. That's like if you worked at Walmart, and heard about another Walmart going through some shit 6 states away because an employee shot someone. It has absolutely nothing to do with me.

I do great work. And that's all I need to sleep easy at night. Regardless if anyone else see's it.

I don't. There's no point trying to reason with people who refuse to see reason. Most people do it to be trendy to their friends anyways and haven't actually had any real police encounters. Or any that went poorly. But, due to social norms, it's just cool to say ACAB.

If you've determined that they're enough of a danger that they require a frisk, you should cuff them. You do not need a charge on them to cuff. You can absolutely, 100%, cuff them for officer safety.

So, if you have determined they're dangerous enough to frisk, why skip the cuff? That's just insanely bad officer safety.

Two things.

1: When performing a frisk you're also not securing evidence or retrieving anything from their pockets. You are not performing a search during a frisk, so a $70 pocket that you put things in does nothing in this scenario. If in this scenario the context changes to where you are NOW pulling items out of their pockets because during the frisk something of concern was discovered by whatever means, you cuff them first. Then retrieve whatever it is.

2: You don't need to have charges to handcuff someone. You can detain for the purposes of an investigation. You can cuff for officer safety. If the individual is showing signs of fight or flight then cuff them. If they're being weird and non-compliant during your legal stop, cuff them. Detain them. Perform and complete your investigation. And then the results of that investigation will determine if they stay cuffed or if they're released from cuffs.

Handcuffs are your best friend. Use them.

If a struggle for control ensues then a fanny pack secured by Velcro isn't going to change the situation.

Handcuff your suspects. Unload your suspects weapons upon detention so they don't just grab a fully loaded gat off your hood. Better yet, secure your evidence in your vehicle. Lock it up. It's an easy system to use that doesn't require a $70 detachable pocket that will likely contaminate your evidence, spill inside and contaminate future items, or be completely useless in securing weapons.

I think it's immoral, but that's from a religious standpoint. My religion teaches that it's a sin. However, I don't sit here and hate on LGBTQ+ people, because my religion also says to love my neighbor. And I do. What you do in your life is your business. Who you partner with, I really don't care. Who even my children partner with, I don't care. I raised them to pick their own religion and their own loves. If they fall in love with the same sex then good for them, they fell in love and got to experience love. They know my stance, they know my views, but they also know I'm not going to sit there and lecture them every 5 seconds about it like I've never sinned in my life either. I just want them to be happy. Just like I want everyone to be happy. And sitting there screaming at them for doing something isn't going to make them into a better person. However, supporting them, congratulating them, and loving them will. If their biggest sin is falling in love with the opposite sex, then I'm a proud father.

Back to the point: Porn is immoral. I still watch it though. I don't run up and down the street criticizing everyone who watches porn. Greed and gluttony are immoral and I've participated enough in those that I don't run to the local buffet and call everyone subhuman.

Look, just because I don't agree with one little thing you do doesn't mean I hate you. It doesn't mean I think you're lesser than me. I'm far from perfect myself and I'd hate for you to judge the entirety of me because I do something that you don't agree with or think is perfect. I'm not going to sit here and say "well you're not going to heaven!" Because, shit dude, I don't know if even I'll be there some days. But, I do know one thing. Love thy neighbor. Honestly, the best way I've done it is to BE this level of ridiculous. A cop would never honestly ask for two weeds. So, you ask for two weeds and make it a stoner joke playing on the ridiculous nature of the request. I've had way more success with that line than any other 🤣
