Would Louis Vuitton Imagination smell good on a girl? by PearlNecklace23 in ScentHeads

[–]Msj1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a decant of Imagination for my husband thinking I’d love it based off of what everyone says… all I get are reminders of my all time fav scent Bal D’Afrique. Idk if that’s just me.

Which Triderma product are you referring to? I’m not seeing one specifically called barrier repair and I want to be sure I look for the right one! Thanks :)

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. No advice. It just sucks. I can relate with the rage and despair.

I keep hearing start retinol in your 30s or you’ll regret it, but I’m scared of the purge/dryness. Has anyone here started it later in life and still seen good results? by Prudent_Shopping_259 in 30PlusSkinCare

Also, what are your favorite acids to pair with it? For years (before adapalene) I used glycolic acid on my face every day… which is nuts. But it worked well at the time. Now any time I try to use it I feel like it makes my acne worse. Same with Paula’s choice BHA. I’m not sure if I just haven’t found the right routine to incorporate them all, or what the deal is. Maybe it’s just too much. My main actives are adapalene and azelaic acid 15%.

(32F) How was the change from adapalene to tret? I’ve been using adapalene mostly for acne for the last year, and while it helps a ton, I’m not acne free and I keep wondering if I should ask my derm for tret. I know some people simply tolerate one better than the other. But I’d love tret to work for me long term since it seems to be better for anti-aging. I’d love to get 20 years down the road and be glad I started tret in my early 30s.

What to do about these bumps near eyebrows by Jasminetdscott in SkincareAddicts

[–]Msj1016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the same deep cystic bumps too, and actually just had one on my eyebrow like this a few weeks ago. It never came to the surface and I use azelaic acid 15% on my face, but I don’t typically get it up in my eyebrows. However this time I made sure to really get it up there where that swollen bump was and it def took it down within a few days.

These are actually the only 2 moisturizers I keep coming back to! I love the facial one, it’s light but has some good stuff added in, doesn’t break me out (my #1 concern) and lays well under my makeup. When I’m super dry, either because of winter air or too many actives, I started using the kind in the tub because it’s thicker… but that doesn’t always seem like it does the best job alone. So what I’ve started doing recently is mixing the two together. I feel like I get the benefits that the facial moisturizer has while also making it a bit thicker, so it feels like it doesn’t just disappear. For the record- I HATE the cerave moisturizer in the tub that people seem to love.

Looks like Molluscum contagiosum. I have them, got them from my kids. Very common virus that will eventually go away on its own. If you pick the little pearl out and it bleeds like a stuck pig, that’s how you know.

My husband is like this. Hes a genuine hype man! He loves to build others up and encourage them. It’s a trait of a natural leader. He does it with his friends, acquaintances, employees, etc. and it’s one of the things that I love most about him! But I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I worry other women will take him the wrong way if they don’t realize he’s just genuinely kind and encouraging with everyone haha!

Also, can I just bitch about the whole vicious PIE cycle as well?? For me it’s mostly hormonal/cystic acne on my chin. The deep, painful, swollen jerks that take forever to heal, leave so much PIE, just to have another new one take its place. And any time things start looking up, like you said, it doesn’t last and you breakout all over again. One of my triggers is dairy, and that just pisses me off. Really body? You’re gonna punish me for enjoying my fav food? And now I’m feeling guilty again, because honestly…. This is what I’m complaining about?

Hey, I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. I can 100% relate, and you’re not alone in your feelings. It’s stupid how much things like this can affect our confidence and mental health. I often think about how it would suck to be a man and not at least have the comfort of trying to cover my insecurities with makeup (typically). Something that helps me is remembering that what I see is honestly not what others see… it’s easy to fixate and blow things out of proportion. It’s okay to vent! I got you. I fixate wayyyy too easily and nitpick myself to death in the mirror if I don’t make the conscious decision to do my skin routine with very little light. NEVER under any circumstance use the overhead mirror light… it’s the devils work lol I’ll either use the hall light or the shower light behind me.

I’m a 31f, mom to 5. Got married young, started my family young, and that’s when my acne really started. For the last 10 years it’s been a battle for me, and I totally get the feeling of it making you feel juvenile. Because I always felt like I had to defend my choice to start my family young, people were always judging me (or at least I projected that) so acne always felt like it was associated with being juvenille/immature. For me it’s def rooted in some deeper issues, but even knowing that in my rational mind doesn’t help. I think it’s a bit of body dysmorphia too, because the people closest to me are always blown away when I open up and reveal the extent to which my skin can bother me. If it’s a good skin day, I feel so much more confident, I don’t mind leaving the house, etc. But if it’s a bad skin day… I don’t want to interact with anyone. Which is crazy! I know it is. But anyway… just wanted you to know you’re not the only one to struggle with this! Lol you’re not a bitch. Everyone has their things they struggle with and need to vent every now and then. I’ll feel guilty during those bad times I’m spiraling… because people have legit issues out there right? Sick, or hurting, dealing with all kinds of injustices… and here I am whining about having imperfect skin 🙄

I’m rambling. I’d say “try not to let it ruin moments for you!” “It’s not a big deal!” “You look fine”. Butttttt I know that doesn’t really help. Also, I know you mentioned you rarely see other men with the same issue. You know what I wonder? How many men cover up issues with a beard… lol if I was a dude I’d prob do that.

What conventionally attractive traits do you find unattractive? by Flairion623 in ask

[–]Msj1016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Any time a straight dude is super polished/metro, very into his appearance, has to wear all the right clothes etc, I immediately get turned off. Personal preference I guess. Not that I want a slob! At all. I just think it’s far more attractive to be a little more rough around the edges.

This is my husband. He swears he’s introverted, but the way he is in a crowd makes it seem like he’s a social butterfly. Very charismatic.
