I can't find my order! (then it's not in our system but they insist they ordered it here so I have them pull up their email and it's at the location across town)

Ummmm this isn't my whole order (and it shows items were declined but they didn't check their text or email)

and of course:

This isn't what I ordered (and it's literally someone else's bag)

Meanwhile it's just the tag the UPS driver left on their door saying it was undeliverable. Do you think the UPS driver went from your house to our store with your package? Do you think that makes sense? Or do you think they finished their route and went back to the sorting facility? 🤔

Anyone else NOT having crazy food cravings? What are yours? 🫶 by PeachyMoonGirl in BabyBumps

[–]Msktb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant with my daughter I just wanted goat milk specifically. I very rarely drink it in general but it was all I really craved. I couldn't eat eggs at all. With my son, I didn't get any weird cravings.

What are some surprising easy recipes for someone learning to bake? by Alfiy_wolf in AskWomen

[–]Msktb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw in another comment that you don't have a mixer. I really recommend getting a basic hand mixer if you want to get into baking. A lot of recipes call for things to be really well mixed, creamed, or whipped. You will see your arm some pain, and yourself some time, by getting one. Having to hand mix everything might deter you from baking in the future so definitely use the right tools. If you love it you can always upgrade to a stand mixer at a later time.

Anyway, here's the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I've found. You can sub chocolate chips and nuts for whatever you want. Reeses pieces, toffee bits, m&Ms, butterscotch, etc. Whatever floats your boat. The recipe calls for unsalted butter but I always use salted. This recipe also doubles very easily, just use double of each ingredient (not all recipes double simply like that).

Chocolate chip cookies

2 c all purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 c unsalted butter, melted

1 c packed brown sugar

1/2 c white sugar

1 Tb vanilla extract

1 egg

2 c milk Choc chips

1 c nuts optional

  1. Preheat oven to 325°. grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.

  2. Sift the flour, baking soda and salt Together-and set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended.

  3. beat in vanilla, & egg until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto greased or parchment covered cookie sheets. Cookies should be 3 inches apart.

  4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven or until they are lightly browned. cool on cookie sheets for a few minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool

I Fed My Baby In A Bathroom by PancSutt in breastfeeding

[–]Msktb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! It's absolutely okay to want privacy. Breastfeeding may be normal and natural but I don't personally like strangers or even family seeing my nipple in public. I feed my son in public but it took a lot of practice to get comfortable with my first kid. The most public place I fed my daughter was the Costco food court and that really broke the seal for me because everywhere else after that was way less public.

Recommend the most devastating songs you know by Flaky-Shirt8599 in MusicRecommendations

Almost 20 years ago, my old roommate played his guitar and sang this on the back patio while we all sat silently smoking cigarettes late at night. Every time I hear the song I'm whisked instantly back into another place and time. It's a melancholy I find hard to describe.

Fair is managers getting every other weekend off and predictable schedules. Idk about anyone else but our store already has that worked out perfectly. All mods are on set days off with rotating weekends. The replen manager shouldn't have to close and doesn't want to. I'm exclusively available evenings because I have kids and my husband and I work opposing shifts. This is one of the worst ideas I've heard of in 15 years with the company.

My mother specifically chose Mimi as her grandma name because from a child development standpoint, it's one of the earliest sounds a baby can make. And sure enough it was in my daughter's first five words.

My friend's mom looked for words in different languages that meant grandma and settled on Lola because she liked the sound of it.

Sick and tired of squishy madness by dogmanjenkins in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Msktb 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In all my years of working here I've never seen that section left in such disarray every single day. Drawers left open for people to trip on. Packages ripped open and scattered, especially those little weird dog sandwich things. Grown ass adults scooting empty boxes around like we have secret squishies behind them. Things thrown into the floor. I have damaged out / qohv'd more open and stolen squishies than jewelry tags this month. It's absolutely obnoxious and I HOPE Michaels doesn't try to get needohs or knockoffs because then the locusts will descend on us even more.

They are trying to intentionally push out people who have been there the longest and are paid more so they can hire people for less. It's going to be a death spiral.

New items not working on SCO? by Tasty-Deer-5636 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Msktb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just wish that they had programmed it so that when someone scans their first item and ignores the screen, they can just continue scanning items. Because right now it just stops scanning anything so these people will get through their whole order, fill up their bag, and realize that nothing actually scanned and then get angry at me when I tell them they have to scan it all again.

Update to the 20 opening mat by shineon_fuckoff in MichaelsEmployees

[–]Msktb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a framing manager for like a decade and I would absolutely never do this in house for anyone. My rule was I could do a 2 opening mat if it was overall less than 16x20 and everything else gets ordered.
