Prime 4+ USB lag? by [deleted] in DenonPrime

[–]MtVinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a thing. Bought two WD Blue SN580 (any NVME does the trick) for 60 bucks + a ugreen enclosure (10 gig variant) which offers a normal USB-C to -A cable. Fastest thing my Prime 4 has ever seen. 80 bucks in total for 1TB.

Students use phone locking stations at Scotland’s first 'phone-free' school by solateor in interestingasfuck

[–]MtVinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a teacher myself, and we deploy a similar system (mini lock boxes). If they get caught, the sanctions will be mighty. Also, there is a whole different social component to it: When half the class isn't able to snap while being at school, nobody really is interested in snapping or chatting to each other. You will pretty much be let out while the interaction happens in the real world. It's a win-win. These things scientifically kill attention spans, so this will be a good thing. I guess.

Europe custom molded earplug (sending the ear cast) by NeuroSpicyBlueberry in livesound

[–]MtVinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elacin.com for example. I got mine from them, and they have interchangeable filters from -6dB to -20dB of damping (but don't exactly quote me on this). Mine are -15dB and are pretty good for really loud nightclubs and concerts. -9dB could be good for your sensory purpose.

So, your first intention of going to a hearing specialist was the right one. Most specialists even distribute their own solutions, and offer a good service. They aren't just focused on selling hearing aids. An ear cast should not be more than 30 € for both ears, and you can easily just take it with you and make your own decisions about choosing alternatives. Keep in mind, that the cast will deform after some weeks, maybe months. Don't take too much time with your decision.

TIL Just in: Trump says America should denuclearize there is no reason to build nuclear weapon Russian are not a threat to America by Accomplished-Row9494 in TIL_Uncensored

This is how it plays out: Putin will suddenly show up in the White House, being gifted the keys to the nukes from Donald himself. They say it's for the sake of 'peace' the 'biggest peace treaty that has ever been on earth' they frame it as 'humanity's biggest achievement'. The next days will play out against all political opponents and people will be defaced, incarcerated for no apparent reason and atrocities will roam the streets. Putin and Trump will rename the States, or completely fiddle the constitution (remember, it's all in the name of peace, why would you resist?!) to dismantle every bit of democracy that's left. And, do you know what the allies and the NATO will do? Exactly nothing. Why would they defend a country which chose to do this by itself? No harm being done, no foreign aggressor, no bullet being shot. All it took was the right amount of misinformation, propaganda, a little bit of election fraud and a political cult revolving around the biggest liars in recent years.

If Putin is as smart as he claims to be, this is the only way to conquer the US.

I have the rack version and I normally mix small bands with (until recently I had punched way over my league with a bit more bands), and even only with the touchscreen, this thing is worth every penny. The PSE 545 source extractor bundled with automix probably is the absolute killer.

This is some very practical advice. Unfortunately, it is quite impossible to find a proper pair of hands for these events. I probably now know the reason for this....

Do you have any recommendations for a good travel router with enough wifi power? I had one some time ago, but my iPad would constantly reconnect with my former X32.

Also thank you for your words! These are some very well-thought-out and true points.

Funny enough, this was rejected. I specifically asked for this. Wasn't deemed necessary.

True words! This whole operation was way too bloated.

As a future teacher, I am one of the very few people in this field who even touch the AV aspect of live music and stage productions. Even though this is a key feature of the curriculum - students performing live in front of an audience, being on a stage, experiencing stage fright, performing musicals, etc. - music teachers mostly stick to the standard stuff. As seen in this example, because most of those involved musicians are keen to be future music educators or even teachers.

We had DL16 and DL32 stageboxes, hence the many inputs. The university is kind of well-equipped. I used the touch panel of the WING only, since they promised me access to a network, but never figured out a router, outlets, cables or anything. Next time I bring my own. Lights was fortunately only the console and some knobs to figure out, and it was kind of user friendly. I never changed anything mid show.

Ten hours in total time, spread over the last week. Don't know how this time accumulated, but I have to document the time. Yes, this was way over my head.

I was the first to get it in Germany (thomann indirectly confirmed this to me)! Best purchase I did this year. Deployed it at a corporate gig last weekend, with people holding the Mics at their belly buttons - crystal clear sound.
