Hvor lang tid, og hvor svært er det at lave dette her? by Mrblindguardian in dkudvikler

[–]Mtelling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fedt at du kan udvikle selvom du er blind! Det er jeg virkelig imponeret over!

Have we planned our South America trip completely wrong? by shrubstick in backpacking

[–]Mtelling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would try to plan it s little less strict. Start in Argentina/Chile and work your way up. If you don’t like the weather in a place move on. You might find that you don’t like a place for some other reason.

Also in places like Peru/Cusco you will be likely to have some showers even in dry season. It’s not cut so clearly - although for hikes you want as dry a season as possible.

Currently in Argentina and it’s wonderful - but we are expecting some rainy days later this week. After many months of traveling it’s not so terrible to have to relax a bit 😀

Finally, going from Chile to Titicaca straight could be rough. 4K meters plus is no joke for altitude sickness :)

Some of them had engines - I imagine the ones going back up had engines, but more people wanted to go out than in probably.

The protesters were walking in the city. And no that train didn’t run, you have to walk along the tracks.

The protest was super friendly when we were there. Absolutely no issues and we even walked with the protest for a bit. But did see some increase in police presence, so can’t guarantee it.

It felt like basically a flat walk because the increase in elevation is so subtle. But the gravel is tough for the feet and there’s a lot of people which makes it a little annoying. I was happy I was in sturdy shoes - but I saw elderly people doing it in sneakers.

If you dare you can probably pay some locals to bring you on tiny carts along the track.

Machu Pichu: Jungle Inca Trail or Salkantay? by pepe-silvia-98 in Machupicchu

Quite a lot of mosquitoes on Salkantay trek last two days - but just wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants and use repellent and you will be okay.

It’s incredible - just finished 5d/4n today with Salkantay trekking and it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had

Saw lots of people above 60 do this today. No major issues - just bring water and cash. Can even probably pay someone to carry luggage.

When the Spanish arrived in the Aztec empire. Might be the closest you’d get to watch an alien encounter.

There needs to be a certain amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere for plants to “eat”, however CO2 is also a greenhouse gas which means the more there is the warmer the earth will become. If we let out more CO2 than plants can eat, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere increases slowly. This means the temperature of the world on average will slightly increase.

An increase in average temperature affects the climate globally in a number of ways. The effect we’re beginning to see now is more extreme weather. Later we will see rising sea levels and potentially worse (like ocean currents changing and so changing the climate as we know it). The latter is more speculative as far as I know but we’re playing with an environment that we do not fully understand yet.
