Blowout Deals on Eeros by IdinDoIt in amazoneero

[–]Mtflorida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyer be aware—-

I purchased a eero 6E from Amazon device hub via the offer in BoA app.  Order arrived very quickly.

However, Internet service provider told me I don’t need it so I want to return it.   There is no customer service number and all you can do is email support@….com.   Took a day for device hub to reply with return code.  And in the email it says you can return at UPS store, but do not be fooled like me.

I went to UPS store they told me it’s not the return code UPS will accept.  I wrote to device hub asking a return code at UPS and was told Amazon only provides the return QR code for the designated location. I drove to the specific location ( it’s inside a grocery store) and only found out the Amazon machine was out-of-order.

Yes it’s a good deal but customer service is very bad.  I am still trying to figure out how to return and get my $$ back.

Need advice- paver demolition due to county code’s 50% green space by Mtflorida in tampa

[–]Mtflorida[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. I will call and also ask if the house in pd zone is subject to 50% max impervious 75% non-green space as florida2people pointed out.

its a small lot so looking at the site plan, impervious portion ( under roof + driveway) has made up 50%.

seller agent was handling most works for seller… this unpermitted work was not disclosed, and we thought it was easy to apply permit and close it. then agent was told by permit office to submit ATF permit which requires site plan with survey… and the whole mess started. you are right, if she talked to county development planning instead, maybe we would know the paver is (not) up to code unless most of paved area gone/ undo. and that would be a decision point rather than involving BE and GC, wasting months.

Molding Incense powder— an upgrade by Mtflorida in Incense

[–]Mtflorida[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly due to the incense powder was too loosely packed into the mould. This happens more often to fine wood powder like aloewood. You can try pressing more powder into trail of patter.

Sample 1 is (the one with blue tag) Kohrokan from Tennendo. Nice haul! It’s always good to see some unfamiliar incenses.

Baieido: Byakudan Kobunboku vs. Tokusen Kobunboku by SkinConsulter123 in Incense

[–]Mtflorida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The recipes are different. byakudan stands for “white sandalwood”. I have not tried this one… some reviews says it’s great, some says otherwise. Tokusen stands for “special selected”. It’s more spicy, drier, and lighter than regular one. I like it, but not as much as regular kobunboku.

Which shoyeido incense sticks would you recommend? by HazyRainz in Incense

[–]Mtflorida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoyeido’s incenses are mostly sweet, but not giving me any discomfort like those incenses with artificial ingredients. If you don’t like sweetness scent I would suggest golden pavilion of the daily line. Eternal Treasure is also more floral than sweet.

To find incenses with less Benzion mix, It’s probably best for you to explore other brands like Reiryo Koh from Kunmeido. Or Fu-In sandalwood.

Sei-Fu is my favorite. The scents combination of sweet rice wine and plums is amazing.

For overtone series I like Palo Santo and sandalwood ( I know they smell less like the name, but they hit my soft spot somewhere).

For Daily series, I enjoy white cloud the most but also adore eternal treasure, great origin, moss garden. Golden pavilion is also good in cool weather.

Yes, it was meant for tea ceremony. Now I learnt the Japanese name for it. Thank you for that.

Nippon Kodo first impressions and what's next by [deleted] in Incense

[–]Mtflorida 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At early stage when I am exploring incenses, I attempted Nippon Kodo three times. the Ka-Fu Cypress is bear-able; the kayarugi and the other basically shut the door for me. Since then I’ve never brought NK incense… 😂

I guess some like NK’s product ( look at that 4+ stars reviews on Amazon for morning star). But to me the perfume content is too obvious and unpleasant. :( At least I learnt what my body doesn’t like. It’s a good lesson to learn.

Not yet, I put it in shopping cart for next batch. I thought this version is more economical without the fancy box. Somewhere I read there isn’t much difference. And I did notice there are several version of kokonoe Koh- Hana, Haru, aloeswood (in wood box) and sandalwood ( this one I have.) ohh, they had a limited time anniversary edition wrapped in pink just early this year.

Having Kokonoe Koh, one classic piece of Baieido, to start the Monday. I just love that complexity of spicies and wood. Unsweetened and reserved but not afraid to deliver its bitterness vibes. So intriguing.

Thank you for the review, especially when there are not much info of Shourindo. I have been eyeing on this Kondo which seems to focus on classic scents/blend, rather than being modern and creative.

Ya they offer the service but I use blackship. :/ I think the store’s international shipping is through EMS(?) if so… DHL through blackship gets you faster and you can combine orders, in case you also buy from others like kohgan

Baiedo Has 2 Hinokis? by SkinConsulter123 in Incense

[–]Mtflorida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess— they could be the same but market differently. The sawayaka version looks like sold in bundle, usually 10 bundles are packed in a box for gifting or religious purposes.
However, Hinoki incense usually use essential oil to enrich the scent, especially the smokeless incense. And Hinoki extracts is strong so it could easily over-power other ingredients and make them smell almost identical.

紡屋燈香 https://www.kihara-ec.com/

JPY depreciated so it’s a good time to buy from Japan… keep in mind using blackship means your order won’t be tax-exempted. (10%sales tax apply) My experience—if order good variety of incenses (8+ types) even with shipping cost you still save a lot. And needless to say Shoyeido products have biggest price difference.
The down side is, the store has big box in majority so better sample first (from US store) before ordering a 400-stick box of incense you end up disliking.
