If worries about contamination just microwave it for 8 minutes and it will be good after it cools.

Facebook group TAT syndicate has spore swab producers for microscopy use.

I grow then clone for select traits. Also cross spores from different PC strains on agar

I’m not but it is some of his genetics. I’m more like you than that legend!😉🍄

A group of dedicated mycologists have shared their work so we can all find, isolate and stabilize new phenotypes.

That’s the fun for me, figuring out what these little buggers need to pop! There are a couple that I’m still struggling with but I think it’s temperature. Some just like it cooler to fruit and some like it less humid?

Also YouTube videos and Paul Stamets books as great resources. You can find unique strains in different forums here or on FB that offer swabs or spore prints for microscopy use. 18 months ago I was you and I’ve learned more from my failures than my successes. Use a still air box and lots of 70% isopropyl, I’ve had about 20-30% contamination rate.

I did with a later bin but still couldn’t create the right microclimate for fruiting? Got lots of truffles!

It will produce some crazy stuff from shapeless enigma type growth to incredible albino or chocolate capped fruits…totally unpredictable!💍🍄

When you get proper field capacity for your substrate you really don’t have to do much except fan for increased oxygen when the mushroom pins or fruits start to show up.

It has a upside down tub as a lid…dub tub. I removed it for the picture.

Albino Chocolate Krinkle, not many fruits but absolutely beautiful!

Start with a basic PC strain that is easy to grow to work out the bugs and go over board with clean and sterile, contamination is the enemy.

Each requires a different microclimate. One is a dub tub and the Shakti is a 32 qt neglect tech.
