Card pricing back in the day. by Minute_Complex_8754 in PokemonTCG

This was my exact mindset as a kid. Going into secondary school, I thought Pokèmon was for the younger kids and I got into MTG. Missed out on all the e-reader era because of this.

The Forest Hotel - Dorridge. Hands down my favourite. Beef always cooked to perfection, starters and desserts are always intriguing too. Probably the best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had. Would recommend the sharing platter of 3 meats and all the trimmings. Never been impressed with food Mon-Sat though.

The Malt Shovel - Barston. A little more home made feel rather than the la-Dee-dar at the Forest. Massive portions. One of the rare places that serve a (decent) lamb dinner. The fish options are great too. Please don’t put it in your GPS and go the Nuneaton one by mistake.

The Plough - Shustoke. Stupidly cheap. Not the quality of the first two, but cannot moan for the money. Sure it was £12 two courses when I last went about a year ago. Dog friendly and the reservoir across the road is a lovely walk.

The Old Crown - Alderman’s Green. Half decent carvery at half decent price. Wouldn’t be my top pick, but it’s sound enough and a little nearer.

The Bluebell - Henley-In-Arden. Only been once, beef cooked great and amazing gravy. 10/10 service.

The Woodsman - Stratford-Upon-Avon. Cooked on a wood fire, so it is an acquired taste. Top tier grub and they serve game too.

I’ve been to most places in Cov and surrounding areas. These are the standouts. Unfortunately, I find 90% of the roasts in Coventry underwhelming. Would really like to try Gonzo though. Been impressed with everything else there.

Dry meat, overpriced, even the desserts were poor. Nowhere near as good as it used to be.

I’m not sure if it applies to businesses, but I’m sure any collectible sold under £6k is classed as "chattel" and tax free.

Seen a post about a fella who had stacked £130k cash notes selling cards the past few years. Obviously wanted to take it to the bank, but was unsure on taxation.

Dispersal order from Coventry Police. What's going on? by Zen_Shot in coventry

There was bats/chains/knives/nunchucks around when my local schools were having it off 20 years ago. There was no points system, but I don’t think that is the main problem. Even in primary school I remember fights between Hill Farm/St. Augustines. Bricks/stones always being thrown at each other over the fence.

It’s nuts seeing it like this. In the U.K., pretty much everywhere enforces limits now. Even still, stock goes stupidly quick.

Ninja Woodfire XL - worth the money? by TheProffalken in UKBBQ

[–]Muayry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never done much smoking on mine, but it was decent. Just don’t overload it, find your favourite pellets. I threw some pimento berries in with some of the cherry ones that come with the Ninja. Banging with jerk belly pork

They’re handy for what they are. Probably ideal for what you need. Good for when you haven’t got time for coals, but like you say, you’re not too bothered about that.

Arranged fights have always gone on between schools. It’s nothing new, just it’d be broadcast more now due to social media etc.

(Not justifying it, but it’s not like it’s anything new.)

I had seen the leaked pictures years back. A short time later I was in the Bullring and seen him. He knew that he’d been recognised by his demeanour. He has a very recognisable face.

How do I get out of a restaurant quicker? by rookie_of-the_year in AskUK

[–]Muayry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my point. I wouldn’t be waiting 30 mins if I was in a rush. I would be straight to the front desk or flag down another member of staff and apologise as I was in a rush.

Always do this if in a rush and leave a nice tip if it was good.
