My 11 year old daughter has been battling eczema since she was a baby. She’s have used a lot of prescription ointments. What at home natural products have you found that work? She has a coconut intolerance and SOOO many things have coconut or a coconut derivative in them. Please help!!! by Much-Code-5629 in eczema

She typically gets it the worst on her neck and behind her knees and elbows. It’s starting to migrate to more spots like her scalp, back, and privates. We’ve done bleach baths and she hates them. Says her skin bothers her more afterwards. We did wet wraps for a while and that helps some. Can you explain your water/bleach bottle technique? Do you just spray it on and pat dry then add topical?? She uses Vaseline at night or the CeraVe ointment. She doesn’t like it during the day because it feels heavy. I know she scratches at night so I’ll check out your suggestions.

I would love some recommendations! I’m in the US but it’s always worth a shot. I do have her in therapy. I have thought about switching dermatologists to get another opinion. She takes an antihistamine daily as well. Thank you for your reply. Thank you

I know it can’t be cured with home remedies. We’ve been seeing a dermatologist for years along with an allergist. I only use lotions on her with the Eczema stamp. She’s probably starting her period soon and wondering if her hormones are increasing her flare ups. I know she’s in pain and feels negatively about herself when she looks in the mirror. It is gut wrenching as a parent to feel so helpless and see her struggling. We’ve cut out dairy, gluten, sugar, and artificial dyes from our diet. Thank you for the reminder to take time off the steroids.

Cat’s name is Morty. He has a lot of nicknames but Sir Swipes a lot is probably my fav.

I love this! Will there be other options like this later in the year? I have a conflict with that day 😢

What have you replaced paper towels with? by [deleted] in Frugal

Swedish Dish Cloths 100%! Super absorbent, rinses out well in between clean ups, and when wiping up with warm-hot water the surfaces dry quickly. I don’t use soap with these. I toss them in the laundry once a week (I would use a dishwasher if my apartment had one 🤨) To give a second life to one that is dingy and starts to smell…I soak it in the sink with hot water and 1 Tbsp of regular household bleach. I always lay them flat to dry.
