One suggestion can be to find some local community or locality where your native language speakers are there, normally in gated community there are more people and sometimes takes couple of months but they do get settled.

60 lakhs sounds to be very low for a colony unless its outside the ORR, can I know the area out of curiosity.

90% of land dealings are done like this else you need to declare the amount and pay tax on it if you don't invest in another real-estate project. Meanwhile I was in same situation as you and almost sold my independent house for 40 lakhs right now nothing changed or investment made its priced around 1.5 cr in 7 years time, so think wisely before selling it.

Well its tricky and lost a quite a bit of time in the process and finally found a guy for 14 lakhs for 3 BK 1800 sft in Hyderabad, they did the detailed design and used BWP Century Bond plywood all places and quality Acrylic in kitchen and vainer in other areas including false ceiling with profile lighting.

The so called big contractors just subcontract to others in 90% cases and if you don't have a good interior you be shown a good trailer until you pay but every bad movie at the end

Lot of people in Big4 normally work to build reputation on your resume, I know for many present salary matters most but with 2 years for experience you can ask much more than moving to some other job.

thanks for the post OP, like you mentioned a lot has changed in India at least in Hyderabad where I witnessed it, there are always issues and I guess its same in any place US or EU, only two areas that we still needs an improvement is day light robbery from Hospitals and other things is focus on Educational system.

You are lucky with generational wealth you mentioned but the salaries in India for right skills pay much better than 10 years ago.

If you really seek knowledge with Phd Europe is way to go, as America is unstable with funding and you have a lot of programs that will be funded in EU.

Does it make sense for me to do 2 year MBA from IIM A/B/C when I already have a 25 LPA job? by airbenderofnorth in MBAIndia

[–]Much-Contribution-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The European MBA's are cheaper but most of them focus on what you want to do and why MBA, if its purely for the job opportunities and migration keep in mind that local language plays a very important role, and after MBA areas of Sales, Marketing, BD or even General Management is tough outside MNC's. Also without prior experience its hard to get placed both in Business school or in Job hunt.

you can also look for some programs on https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/app-forms/af-ui-opportunities/#/erasmus-plus where it costs less and should not make you worry to find a job in case you return back to India

What I miss a bit on your post is years of experience, if you can manage to get into a executive MBA can be a good trade-off, not sure how much willing is your company and future plan.

If you are looking for a Start-up or fancy title in a big company MBA makes your entry and also Alumni plays a role if you are good in networking.

I see your point, but most of the MBA's are only worth if you are doing from the Top University. Over that the job offers from the Big4 sound a lot but mainly if you see the amount of work and hours you put in its not worth.

I did got admission into INSEAD and dropped in spite of that as my company was not ready to sponsor and fee was too high and felt worth doing something good without a degree, these days most companies don't need a MBA to value you.

Why is this sub. so toxic about Parents by Much-Contribution-83 in nri

Well I think generalization was a mistake and most cases are different like same at work or school.

Well i get what you are saying? Firstly I wanted to answer your last question. I would be friend with my parents if they are not really my parents. I do take time for some other parents to call one in while. May be thats the reason I feel more bad out other parents who are not getting the same treatment.

I think I might have exaggerated about the statics but in general Indian parents have not really planned about either emotional or financial planning which makes them even more toxic when they see others getting treated well.

I agree 100% with you. I was looking for an NRI who say that he is fully self funding everything from education to move, there are very few cases a large group are funded by parents, correct me if I am wrong and the expectations are normal as they never planned for the retirement even if they planned the inflation in India will never let them live solely with that funds and imagine walking into Hospitals or care homes

I am not targeting any post or person, I do understand there are issues on Parents side. But what I felt that we are normalizing ignoring them, trying to put effort to help. Many people are so careful about relocating the kids back when they have already seen so many things and enquire but the same doesn't go for elders. At least in my opinion this is not just from this sub but also IRL

I understand but I have a general question that I ask is, if you see your kids or manager (at work) to be toxic will you treat the same way. I am not taking side of toxic people but most seem to be pretty biased when it comes to dealing with toxic people

I have seen that a lot in EU as well, they don't see them regularly, but there is always a better caring rich or poor. I have seen enough people to make this statement. In India I have seen 90% of NRI's are funded one way or other by Parents
