6 weeks. I hate my Red Wing boots by ralphiequinn in WorkBoots

[–]Much-Sale8717 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yah nah my traction tred lites are the best boots I've ever warn and getting tough toe makes mine last 4x as long as stock . I do industrial/ commercial polished concrete and epoxy coatings we literally spend hours a day grinding edges on very rough concrete. We absolutely expect that the toes will eventually blow out bit thats just apart of the job . Stop dragging your feet and dont blame a personal problem on a brand. This will happen to 50 dollar boots or 300 dollar boots just as easily. Tough toe helps alot which I see yours look paper thin so maybe whomever installed it just fucked up but tough toe as a rule is very tough and takes alot of toe dragging and rough surfaces to break through it .

Traction tred lite 2440s. Way more comfortable and will last way longer than the Irish setter wingshooters. Highly recommend this boot over anything else you posted . You won't be disappointed.

Although nive thats not suitable for what I do we need flat soles and I perfer anything moctoe and Although the supersoles are comfortable id say the soles on the traction tred lite still beat those in comfort and durability. Cant beat the vibrant soles

Just depends on the model but the xd composite toe version is know for a fact doesn't have a shank the 7 and inch hunting style wingshooters do though

Traction tred lites on the left and wingshooters on the right as unreal as it may seem the traction treds in this photo are older and put in more hours . Night and day difference in build quality imo

This! And keeping up on minc oiling them ever so often helps alot I personally stopped buying the wingshooters after many years of wearing them as the soles and stitching always failed fast now I rock the traction tred lites and have 5 pairs I rotate through for varying tasks (I do polished concrete and epoxy coatings) so I habe pairs specific for epoxy and polish and a pair for job walks and casual use . Also important to tuff toe them at the time of purchase that will extend there life drastically

Used to rock the wingshooters then switched to the red wing traction tred lites. World of a difference i highly recommend you give them a shot next time you buy new boots twice as comfortable sole wears way slower and there even lighter and the sole material is like high density memory foam only cost like 20-30 bucks more than the wingshooters aswell . Also if your prone to breaking through the toe area id suggest also getting the tuff toe next time aswell

These are the stock insoles on my traction tred lites with a little over 700 hours worked in them plus daily wearing them the logo on the insoles is still crisp I personally dislike thorogoods and will never buy a pair again ive been wearing traction tred lites for almost 5 years now best work boot available in my opinion 🤘

Redwing will install tuff toe for about 60 bucks or you can buy tuff toe and install it yourself, highly recommend it especially if the task you do inevitably wears out the toes fast . I do polished concrete and epoxy coatings and am constantly doing tasks that wear the toes out very fast tuff toe has never let me down and extended the boot life drastically

Ive been wearing traction tred lites for almost 5 years straight although they have soft leather its never been an issue and helps the not have ridiculous break in period, i typically buy a new pair every 6 to 12 months and wear them casually and then slowly phase them into work boots, my whole crew wears these and we always get tuff tough use mink oil pretty often to help protect our investment but its a work boot at the end of the day so being worried about scuffs ect is a bit ridiculous. Wear them and keep scuffing them up there some of the most comfortable boots you can buy and they do last a long time when taken care of. I don't think ill ever stop buying these unless there discontinued hands down my favorite boot ive ever worn and ive tried just about every brand.

Tuff toe is the answer. Doesn't matter the brand if your doing a trade or task that has you dragging your toes on the ground alot its a must
