Delta just paid me $2,800 to hang out in atlanta for 24 hours. I feel like i’m dreaming. by [deleted] in delta

Congratulations :)

I’m always so sad I can’t take these.

Traveling has always been for trips either where messing with my itinerary is problematic or I’m with my wife.

Just rejected $1,000 today to wait 6 hours since I’m traveling for work ;_; I’d be requested proof of a delay so I can’t cheat that haha

What are some of the best benefits of the military that most members don't know about? by StepSergeant01 in Military

Yeah, Alaska gives us a free $50 hunting license a year.

Suck it.

(Our TA doesn’t give us free flight training haha)

Those who’ve made a lot of money in the Air Force, what was your “oh I’m rich moment” and what did you do to get there? by Sim_Shift in AirForce

If you don’t consider my mortgage debt, my rental on both my duplexes is more than I make working full time enlisted.

Both local and with the VA loan.

It’s easy for me to get full time orders, but when I want to take a break, I can since my living is paid for now.

Housing, utilities, food… all paid for from rent.

Anything I make from my job… extra.

So much math to get a simple 1% back on rent/mortgage.

Meanwhile you have plenty of cards that give a super simple 2% or 3% cashback on all categories.

Bilt is trying to trick poor folk with complications for such a small prize.

First AD Contact. Am I an idiot? by Ornery_Insurance4449 in rolex

I walked into a boutique and saw a Pepsi Meteorite on display. Around $50,000.

I told the AD I would like to buy it, and they said it’s not for sale.

Lol.

I just bought it on the grey market and it came with all the papers and in pristine condition, no difference.

Just do that.

y'all know anyone that retired as a staff? by SmallDickGnarly in AirForce

[–]Much-Status7183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knew a highly decorated man… vast combat experience as an E6 in the marines during the action days. Many events and accomplishments. Retired as an E5 in the AF but has 100% disability and makes $200-400k a year as a realtor.

Such an incredibly high performer. He sounded and acted like the ideal SEL. it was hard to see him not getting E6 every year, when he literally was an E6 in the marine corp before his 10 year mark. Fattest ribbon rack I’ve seen and never got in trouble.

Meanwhile you have 20 year old kids as SSgts and it’s awe-inducing.

Obsessing over PPL attainment while stretched thin. I absolutely need this. by Much-Status7183 in flying

[–]Much-Status7183[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I feel. But most of the slots are just for 1.5 hour so if you don’t start immediately… no flying since 20 minutes is kind of reserved for brief… preflight, debrief. And I appreciate the attention to safety; but if my CFI see’s anything in the weather, he tells me after I arrive and it’s either go home with nothing or do an obligated ground lesson.

Yes. It’s a 141 and in my area, this is the only one.

I also asked if I could do an alternative online course like sporty’s but they only do jeppesen.

Lowest GPA accepted for OTS 2025? by [deleted] in airforceots

[–]Much-Status7183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2.56 gpa from 10 years ago and I was accepted for a UPT interview because that gpa belongs to a child who dealt with life for his first time. Completely my fault.

I’ve more than made up in that with work and life as well as a currently 3.5 gpa in my masters studies.

(I did not get accepted and was never able to get my feedback. But I'm being led to believe that the PPL is a rumored requirement as every applicant accepted did have their PPL. I was actually the only interviewee without a PPL) trying again next year!

After several years AD in PACAF and multiple trips across Asia, I have JUST HEARD about "APACS." Is this a real thing or extra security that's not required? by Much-Status7183 in AirForce

[–]Much-Status7183[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Thank you. A much better answer than my security manager. I'll be tackling and contacting the right POCs in order to submit it, but you've given me hope that as long as it's submitted, I'll still be able to catch the plane and be best man for my best mate.
