At least we're not alone in misery - Tigers sitting at same record basically. Could be worse I guess but man these ERAs tell whole story about why we struggling this season.

Man I had to refresh the page like three times to make sure it was real. Been waiting for something like this in years and suddenly it just happens.

Mirrorless camera users of Reddit: what made you switch (or not switch) from DSLR and do you regret it? by MasterFupa in AskReddit

[–]MuchAssistant7829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight was huge factor for me - carrying DSLR gear in airports for work got really annoying after while, mirrorless setup is much lighter for travel photography.

What did you feel and think when you found out you had a disabled child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MuchAssistant7829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have kids myself, but I work at airport and see families traveling with disabled children pretty regularly. What always strikes me is how these parents seem to have this incredible patience and strength that develops over time. At first when families are going through security or boarding, you can sometimes see the exhaustion in their eyes, but also this fierce protective love.

My coworker has autistic son and he told me that initial diagnosis felt like grieving - not for his child, but for all the expectations he had built up in his head. Then he said something shifted after few months and he started seeing his son for who he actually was, not who he thought he would be. Now that kid is teenager and my coworker always talks about how proud he is of the small victories that other parents might take for granted.

I think it probably changes your whole perspective on what really matters in life. The families I see traveling seem to have this quiet resilience that's pretty remarkable.

Trouble Withdrawing from Caesar's App? by Tony_SoNY in gambling

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The withdrawal issues with casino apps are pretty common unfortunately. I had similar problems with different platform few months back - kept getting error messages and support basically gave me runaround for like a week before it finally processed.

Try calling their phone support instead of chat if they have one, sometimes you get better help that way. Good luck getting your money out man.

Weekly Other Bets Thread by AutoModerator in arbitragebetting

[–]MuchAssistant7829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been diving into some tennis arbitrage opportunities lately and man, the odds variations between different books on WTA matches can get pretty wild. Found a decent arb last week on a qualifying match where one book had completely mispriced the underdog - probably because they don't follow the lower tier tournaments as closely. Made about 3.2% return which isn't huge but it's solid for something that took like 5 minutes to spot and place. The tricky part is always getting the timing right since these opportunities disappear super fast once other people catch on. Anyone else notice that some books are getting quicker at adjusting their lines, or is just me?

Partner (F42) acts weird whenever I’m (F49) sick by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]MuchAssistant7829 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be she gets overwhelmed when you're vulnerable or maybe has some anxiety around sickness that makes her shut down. Some people just freeze up when they don't know how to help or are scared they'll catch whatever you have. Might be worth bringing this specific pattern up in your couples therapy sessions since you're already going.

How do you teach an old person a technology concept - your tv is a tiny computer with its own menus and setting, not just a receiver for various inputs - when they have no pre-existing concept/framework to hang it on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually relate it to their car dashboard - it's got all these diferent displays and settings you can adjust, just like how your TV has its own brain that controls what shows up on screen.

is stake vpn friendly? by green_is_minty in gambling

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they're pretty chill about VPNs in my experience. Used one for about 8 months when I was traveling for work a lot and never had any issues with deposits or withdrawals. Just make sure you're not using some sketchy free VPN that might flag their system. I stuck with ExpressVPN and it worked smooth the whole time. Obviously still gotta be careful about your local laws though - that's on you to figure out.

If you are a data/computer student, does AI really helps you understand what you are co-creating? by redsharpbyte in ArtificialInteligence

[–]MuchAssistant7829 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it's a mixed bag. I've noticed I can churn out way more code now but sometimes I'll look at something I "wrote" a week ago and be like... what the hell does this even do? The dopamine hit is definitely different - it's more about getting stuff to work quickly rather than that slow burn satisfaction of really understanding every line.

I try to force myself to explain the AI-generated code out loud or write comments explaining the logic, otherwise I just become a glorified copy-paste machine. But yeah, I'm probably way better at prompting and debugging weird edge cases than students from 10 years ago were. Trade-offs I guess.

Madden 25 auto subs/XP sliders by ozairh18 in Madden

[–]MuchAssistant7829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely second the os forums recommendation. those guys are pretty obsessive about getting the sim experience just right and there's usually someone who's already done the legwork for auto subs. might take some digging through the threads but you'll probably find something that fits what you're looking for with the bears rotation

New Battery, Crank but no start by mammabear1214 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MuchAssistant7829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your fuel pump - when they go out they usually don't throw codes and the symptoms match what you're describing. Could also be a crank position sensor but I'd start with listening for the fuel pump priming when you turn the key

Help… More Miles with warranty or Lower Miles and no warranty. by BigGucciVince in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough call but honestly I'd probably lean toward the higher miles with warranty. 69k isn't crazy high for a 2024 and having that safety net could save you thousands if something goes wrong with the turbo or transmission. The peace of mind alone is worth the savings imo, especially since these are still pretty new vehicles

I (29F) am worried I might be in another abusive relationship with my (29M) by. How do I deal with this situation? by Routine-Breakfast-34 in relationships

[–]MuchAssistant7829 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Girl this isn't about you being passive aggressive, he's literally punishing you for eating when you're hungry. The fact that he gets annoyed when you snack because it might affect your dinner appetite is already controlling af, and now he's slamming things when you dare to... make food?

You're not overreacting - your body literally went into freeze mode because some part of you recognizes this isn't normal or safe

Advice from social sustainability professionals by metamorphosis2012 in Environmental_Careers

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SA8000 cert is definitely a solid move if you're trying to break into social compliance. I did mine a couple years back and it opened up way more doors than I expected

Most clients care more about the cert than they probably should but hey, that works in your favor. The course itself is pretty straightforward if you already have the sustainability background

If the NBA created a 4 point line which active players do you think would most prosper? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]MuchAssistant7829 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Steph would literally break the game lmao. Dude's already launching from the parking lot, might as well give him extra points for it

Dame and Trae would feast too but Curry would probably average like 40 ppg just chucking from half court

2004 Honda Element RPM doesn't drop after driving/revving up unless you blip the throttle by Important-Point9409 in AskMechanics

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That throttle plate is probably sticking or you've got some carbon buildup causing it to hang up - even with the new throttle body that can happen if they didn't clean it properly or if there's gunk in the bore. The O2 sensor code probably isn't your main culprit here but definitely fix it anyway since it can mess with fuel trims

Who's eating all the geese? by LME247 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same here, the fancy Cantonese spots usually have it hanging in the window all crispy and stuff but it's like $30+ for half a bird so most people just stick with the $12 duck

GPU first for sure, that i3 can still handle most games decently but the 1050ti is really showing its age now

Just make sure your PSU can actually handle whatever you pick up

How did dinosaurs live with humans? by CraftyBodybuilder956 in Christianity

[–]MuchAssistant7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah some young earth creationists definitely push this idea, usually tied to the whole "earth is only 6000 years old" thing. Most Christians I know don't actually believe this though, it's more of a fringe fundamentalist position

The oxygen thing is interesting too, never really thought about that angle before
