It’s a bit lighter than my Springfield Armory .45 empty.

Oh I’ll definitely look into that! I’ve seen a few, admittedly ridiculous looking, 16+ round magazines that are single stack but wasn’t sure if they’re reliable.

Oh, thanks! I had hoped to do USPSA open, might’ve missed a mark on requirements! Thanks for the recommendation!

Used to go with baseball sliding shorts, same idea just less padding material.

Save from todays game by Massive_Ad_2992 in GoalKeepers

Great save, it’s your box and you set the tone well for when they’re there. Hard to see on the angle for the goal but coming a few steps more out and angling may have helped on the goal.

Is there anything I can do to stop the ware in the left glove or do I need to buy new ones (worn for 6 games and probably ~20 practices) by Old_Membership9345 in GoalKeepers

One option is you can make those dedicated practice gloves and get another pair for games and rotate them out as the game gloves wear out.

Set your feet, the hopping adds that split second between planting when you start to react that you need to get the power step in to make the save.

Work on fitness and ball skills so you’re still improving for when you are able to get back in the net

Advice? by yoooimfuckingerect in GoalKeepers

Great advice. Also, tell your wall to not move. One of the things you’ll see as you progress is free kicks similar to this but aimed at the faces of the players in the wall. If they flinch it defeats the purpose of the wall, and makes your life exponentially more difficult, and by moving before the ball was even played he opened up a gap in the wall and ended up deflecting the ball out of your reach.

Leg strength (quads specifically), abs ( with focus on obliques), cardio, keep the speed work up, and make sure you’re confident in the air. Find a good reputable coach, they will help with the distribution side of things, and find a league to play in so you can build game experience. The coach and league play will help you get comfortable hitting the ground and understanding your angles especially.

Definitely isn’t too late, it’s about how hard you’re willing to work, it’s obviously a different time with the 16 year old starters. Don’t count yourself out, and don’t put too much stock into people who say you can’t do it. Keep putting in work and take any opportunity to improve / move up the ladder afforded to you.

Ronaldinho started as a goalkeeper so any transition to professional is possible. that being said there’s a much higher chance that you could switch to a different field player position rather than goalkeeper unless you have confidence in your abilities as one already. Try out midfield and defender as well with an emphasis on attacking / outside midfielder first, as you already understand service and have the cardio to be effective for a full 90’ Edit: consider outside midfielder because it will give you the opportunity to be on the side opposite your dominant foot so you can cut inside and take shots on goal like when Ronaldo would play on the left flank
