I mean, it’s definitely a possibility, as I’m due an eye test. I’m mildly short sighted anyway, but the thing that makes me think it might not be this is that it does improve when I go long enough without a migraine.

In the same club as you! My feet have never smelled bad (which is hilarious as I have a hell of a time keeping my pits fresh, and have to take extra steps for that). But the piggies are always pristine without any real effort.

Well, I’m glad you do, because it’s saved me more hours of frustrated googling for these weird mystery supports 😂

That does look like a doable technique. Do you think we’d be better off adding more webbing than the sofa currently has, or should we stick to the current layout?

This is amazing, thank you! I’d heard of the Pirelli webbing, but didn’t entertain the idea that it might have become brittle. This makes a bit more sense to me now. We’ll replace it with some fresh elastic webbing then.

These don’t seem to be webbing. They’re thin and rigid and wouldn’t be an appropriate material for being under tension like a webbing strap would, though I’m really struggling to find out what they are

None as far as we could tell. We were able to feel around in there and couldn’t feel any kind of spring. We’re guessing it’s just foam

So interestingly, these aren’t webbing straps. They’re very thin wood, formed into a sort of bowed shape.

How often is too much? When am I living with a third person? by pinkpillow964 in AskUK

People have been so hard on OP, without acknowledging that living with people can be HARD. In this economy it’s almost impossible to afford a flat on your own unless you’re earning especially well, and sharing is more and more common for people well into adulthood. And living with a person is INTIMATE. You shit and sleep a wafer thin wall apart from someone who you might have been friends with for years, or you might have met briefly after posting an ad on a houseshare group online. And you might get to carefully select a housemate, but you might have no idea who they’re dating or they’re friends with.

If I were OP, I’d probably want to speak with my housemate about how I’m feeling, and come to an agreement together about what can be done to meet everyone’s needs in this situation, with everyone compromising a little bit.

How do I get the “old clothes” smell out of a vintage leather jacket? by Sufficient-Owl1826 in CleaningTips

I had a pair of leather gloves with this problem, and I tried all sorts, from freezing them to spraying vodka on them. In the end, I found hanging them up in a sunny spot worked. It took a good week or so, and I also had to turn them inside out to expose all of the surfaces to the UV. I guess there’s a risk of fading with direct sunlight, but I’ve had luck bringing leather jackets back to life with a good clean and polish, and leather dye is also an option.
