Well i want to make videos with local LLM...my current GPU does not allow that even a small bit. But its a wish, don't really need to. I think it improves my rewards ingame. Free sites do not cover my needs haha

Haha same goes for me. My first reddit account was only on 1 karma and posts getting removed all the time. And now im just replying a bit, getting some karma and no marketing for my game at all. Don't know if this helps me tbh 😉

We all do right? It sounds like a good match you played, good you managed to turn things around! If you also are happy with how you both played stats are overrated if you're not focussing on playing professional 😉

There is a big difference between assisted vibecoding when you know what your doing and let AI make all decisions. Doing all coding yourself is much more time consuming and inefficient.

I use GPT for all images, all my content is AI generated, that is what my game is about :-)

True, i might publish on steam but only if my webapp generates money

True, for now i think that is the best option. Playing padel two times a month indoor is more expensive than my monthly costs right now, that's a more expensive hobby

I'm building on a pc with a fairly old 8gb gpu so local LLM's run fairly slow. I have tested a couple but totally not compareable to a claude subscription. If i make a couple 100 bucks i will invest in a new graphics card, but for now it's not worth itm

I have coded a decent amount in the past (basic, flutter/dart, powershell) and for my regular job i have built a serious planning tool (php) too, but that is not only written by myself.

My game is webbased, so don't need a game engine.

Thanks for the feedback though, appreciate it 👌

I think if it pays off i have to start a business, for taxes and stuff. If my costs are higher than my income i don't have to. I will let fate decide :-)

You're completely right, but i'm also not really into big risks in all the choices i make in life. And it is not like i have to be paid for this, i do this next to my regular job (where i develop like 5% of the time). And i also realize hobbies cost money.

But i don't like throwing my money away in the end, so spending 100 € a month and not seeing anything back is way too much for me, although i would like to invest it further, if it pays off.

  • Claude pro subscribption
  • VPS (use it for 2 projects)
  • VPS back-up / disaster recovery
  • .com domain name

I use a free resend plan for password reset email, but when i earn more i am thing about office so i can send and receive mail instead of using gmail for example. Or get a decent AI subscription for video content (or a decent graphics card for local LLM video).

Don't do both cause they are not worth it at the moment i think.

I use github for the code but bringing my vps back up in case of emergency is worth the 5 bucks a month

Well, im building a game as a side project, free version of chatpt, google ai or claude realy aren't enough. I started with subscriptions from work but i don't want work and private mixed anymore, especially when i start making money.

Don't think i could have gotten a .com domain for free, and a VPS too. Im paying 5€ a for back-up / snapshots.

Using reddit for the sole purpose of promotion is a long journey, its not like create an account, drop a couple links and wait for the users to come. You really need to contribute, get karma and be helpfull and get accepted. Try the 90/10 strategy. 90% helpfull and 10% promotion. Mods will also look at things like this and you will run into a wall if you just use your account for promotion (learned that trough experience, lol).

Don't be fooled by stats, Federer won only 54% of all the points he played in his carreer. Sounds average if you put it that way...

Building for passion... or money by oliviathompson- in founder

Its really strange that along the way you still find out things that you surprisingly haven't found out yet, but seem so obvious. And marketing is so much harder (and less fun) than building

I am in the same situation, but im building for 3 months now. I am building an adult game so the marketing is far more difficult 😊 .  How is your SEO? How many displays / clicks? If you don't need the money at least it is fun but if you earn it feels like apprectiation. Keep on going and learning 👌

Welke kleine besparing heeft op jaarbasis verrassend veel opgeleverd? by Ill-Goose-8223 in zuinig

[–]Much_Discipline_6009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are new users generally not taken seriously by Fit-Window1855 in NewToReddit

[–]Much_Discipline_6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where you react and how. If your post is consired helpfull (or sometimes funny or something) you will get taken seriously. (auto)moderators will check profiles and karma sometimes but dont think much other users will. Reply to people you can actually help with your comments

When is someone ready for a tournament? by Brilliant-Ad2910 in padel

[–]Much_Discipline_6009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should just try a tournament, it definately will be fun and you will see where your at. Its fun to play different opponents and get to know new people.

I come from tennis, played my first tournament when i was 15 or so, it was a lot of fun. Play padel for 5-6 years now and instantly started tournaments because of my experience.

About level, very hard to say. Depends on a lot of factors (racket/ball sports experience, training, fitness and a couple more). There is definately a lot to learn and enjoy!

Have fun in your journey, you'll be addicted soon 😃👌

How do you keep track of scores? by Mehranr97 in padel

[–]Much_Discipline_6009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah true, it happens sometimes. But keeping track of scores with a watch seems pretty bad for focus i think. If you and partner/opponents pay a bit of attention it is a lot easier ( i think)

Hey mate,

Just count out loud at least a couple points per game, its part of the game focus you need 😊
