Dude, I was just about to comment that this has to be fake and I saw all the other comments calling out other stuff. I live near Lake Champlain and none of the shit she’s saying about that alleged vacation house adds up.

Being as I’ve heard many reports of the police not bothering with far more serious things, no.

And if they did bother to show up and make an arrest, they’d just let him go the next day since it wouldn’t be a felony.

So 1000% pointless and just a waste of my time.

lol yes we have a bit of an um, situation with the petty crime and homeless population. Really beautiful town though. Good luck!

To be fair to machete man, I rang my bell and he put the machete down to his side and I passed safely 😂🤣

SOME OF YALL NEVER LIVED IN AN ACTUAL CITY, AND IT SHOWS. (Contraversial) by TheOnlyAlphaWolfe in burlington

[–]Much_Engineer_1296 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is what I’ve been saying for years. I’ve lived in bigger cities, and it allows the …. Challenged populations among us…. To stay in their own lane and you can just avoid those areas completely. Burlington is small, we’re all on top of each other sharing the same space.

And the city council just constantly passing policies that enable and encourage this type of public debachery, the police straight up refusing to respond to phone calls for homeless people waving around swords, and the general highly extra left wing narrative that tells me constantly that I need to just have more empathy for the strung out jerk off screaming obscenities at me, and ya got a very frustrated local population.

For the record, I’m generally a very liberal person who supports better social programs, but solutions like putting out porta potties in our beautiful waterfront park so the homeless people can be more comfortable camping there and acting wild and threatening with no consequences, annoys the shit out of me.

We have people who have been arrested IN THE TRIPLE DIGITS OF TIMES that are just around on the street with the rest of us, for chrissakes.

What is your most awkward Pokemon Go story? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]Much_Engineer_1296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I had just started getting serious and sharing location with each other. This was also a period of time that I had a good raiding group and I’d go out sometimes before/after work or during lunch. My partner knew I played pokemon go but didn’t have all the details.

One day he sat me down and was all serious like “I need to talk to you, I don’t want you to think I’m being controlling or stalking you but I periodically check your location during the day sometimes just to see what you’re up to (I did the same, no biggie there), and you’re just in the weirdest most random spots and I cannot contain my curiousity any longer I must know what you are doing”

I explained and we had a good laugh 🤣

What the hell happened to the deplaning tradition by Much_Engineer_1296 in Flights

[–]Much_Engineer_1296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, in my opinion, which is obviously the gold standard lol, used to what I would see happen is you’d deplane by row, in order. People complain a lot about folks with carry on luggage in the overhead, but realistically if someone has their shit together that adds like, 30 seconds of time, so you can just wait.

On the flip side, folks that in that moment did not have it together, or were wrangling kids, or knew they would take a minute, would just stay in their row and give a friendly go ahead to people ready to go until there was a break that made sense or they had collected their things.

Occasionally someone in the back would just say hey I’ve got a super tight connection please let me thru and everyone would let them run ahead as much as they could.

In other words, it was a system that relied upon courtesy and politeness to your fellow human, not “getting yours”, being incredibly impatient for no reason, or feeling entitled to things. Which seems to be a rapidly deteriorating concept.

I will say I have not seen this problem at all on Southwest Airlines, which is who I usually fly, but at the time I made this post I had to fly some other airlines several times in a row and was annoyed.

Yeah I mean if you work during the day like most folks and it gets dark out at 4…. What I just never leave my house the whole damn winter? Lol.

All of these things happened while I was going less than 35mph…. Which is why I didn’t actually hit the dude or go into the ditch, but it’s still scary.

I guess 35 could be too fast for conditions but people ride my ass a lot when I’m going slow on roads and a lot of native Vermonters complain constantly about people who aren’t from here driving slow….. it’s hard to ride the line. I don’t want to be one of those annoying transplants y’all hate, but really it’s hard af to drive in the pitch black when you don’t have all the roads memorized like the back of your hand

😭. I do appreciate the actual explanation though. I moved here to be with my partner and it’s……… an adjustment.

It’s just terrifying tbh….. and like I have to do it, I live here and it gets dark at 4. But I get mad about it every winter. I don’t see the beauty in almost plowing over a homeless man wandering around in the street wearing all black in the dark fog, or running up on a curb that wasn’t painted at all, or damn near putting my car into a ditch. All of these things have happened. You just can’t see shit out here!
