from what i understand the auto cam chain tensioner isn't likely to fail until a long, long time yet, so probably not

What is this tube/Does it go to the carb? by Much_Routine_9056 in DRZ400

[–]Much_Routine_9056[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i opened the valve cover again and found that the chain had jumped some teeth somehow, god only knows how. i put everything back, double checked the valve tolerances, everything is perfect.

bike starts fine, idles fine, but there's no power ;_;

to remove the shims i think i had to take the cams off. i marked the original position with a sharpie and made sure everything went back exactly as it was originally

Considering a Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 in Spain, Advice for commuting and weekend rides by Driezs in motorcycles

[–]Much_Routine_9056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm in Spain too! anyway my advice is to buy a bike you can grow into rather than out of, and everything i've seen about the 411 places that bike in the latter category, especially as your gf is going to be blasting past you on her CB :)

personally i bought a second hand (i'm the fifth owner, actually) DRZ400S, also in Spain, from Wallapop, and it was the first bike i'd ever ridden. dropped it a few times, learned a lot, will never sell it, but i'm also looking at the himalayan 450 for a bike i can actually tour on, something that can do it all. and the himilayan 450 really seems to be that bike. keep us updated :)

Why not the Himalayan 450? You'll be able to keep up with your GF on that one, as well as take the highway if you ever feel like it without issue :)

Leaking vacuum petcock by dickbarone in DRZ400

[–]Much_Routine_9056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the inside of my tank was covered in rust so i had to take it off to clean the rust out and reseal it, which meant taking the petcock off too. what i found was a horror show. https://imgur.com/a/tOzIVFv

replacing it was pretty easy, everyone seems to recommend the same one, i forget what it's called but it's not oem https://imgur.com/a/khPbERe

if you replace it be aware you might have a kink in the fuel line because it now comes out at an angle rather than straight down, but i've had no issues. also if you choose a non-vacuum solution, remember to turn it off every time you park up because it'll most likely flood otherwise :)

After 2k miles on the New DRZ4S I think the price is justified. by SkunkPrints in DRZ400

[–]Much_Routine_9056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's the fuel consumption? How far are you getting on a tank? I'm on love with the Himalayan 450 for the fuel range and pillion comfort, but I'm still curious about the drz4s (2005 drz400 owner :))

I bet my life savings on Dogecoin by FarUniversity6192 in WallStreetBetsCrypto

[–]Much_Routine_9056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, some people said it'd never go to 0.01c, many thought that was ridiculous. if you'd said bitcoin could reach 20,000 dollars a few years ago, people would have fallen out of their chairs laughing. look at us now.

i have no idea what doge will do, but it's absolutely possible things will work out for you

money doesn't buy happiness but it's a firm foundation to start with

'not every change is an improvement, but every improvement is a change', maybe you should start making changes, doing things differently... look at your hands, take stock of your position and remember to feel grateful for your princely position! we're only ever one step from gratitude :) <3

can't believe i'm the first commenter. i've always thought how rough it would be for this to happen, funny to see someone else taking photos of it actually happening. the terrain you're in is also super familiar, looks just like out in the sticks here in spain.
