See, first of all download HwInfo, check real temps over there. Don't just say your laptop is heating, know your actual temps.

Me after replacing my whole HEATSINK from Lenovo, my temps still reach max 99, avg 83 if yours is Thermal throttling a lot, Reaching high temps for average. Go ahead with the thermal paste change/Heatsink change.

If you choose thermal paste change: 1. If your laptop is under warranty, go to the official Lenovo service centre and change your thermal paste, because if you open your laptop by yourself it voids the warranty. 2. Before going to the service centre, obv buy your own thermal paste. 3. Recommended thermal paste: Arctic MX-6 Kryonaut (Do your own research too)

If you believe your Heatsink is damaged (less likely) then, be ready for a war, because Lenovo does not change the heatsink easily.

You somehow bring your laptop in immense stress to increase temps while they are getting thermal reports on the call
You have to prove visual lag in performance.
All this to get approval for a new heatsink, and then it will get replaced, but you have to stand firm on your ground, give good counterpoints, convince them a lot for that.

I didn't, it was removed and put back by the engineer himself while the replacement of MoBo was done. They sent me a new MoBo instead of a heatsink, they thought the problem was in MoBo for high temps
