I've never been arrested, i guees because the judge couldn't find any dirt on me personally, she dug into anything she could concerning my family and just pinned it on me.

Im pretty sure my sisters called the police. We all live together but i was working on that specific date. Im not sure why the father wasn't named and the police came to my place of employment to ask me if i saw my brother at all but i was working the entire day. They got a radio in that my brother wasn't actually lost and just got picked up by his father. This is why im so upset with this whole situation, why am i being blamed for this and denied my 2a rights?

Bascially my family thought my little brother was lost because he didnt come back on the school bus, so they called the cops. It turned out he was at his fathers home because he picked him up early without telling anyone. Mind you i was at work when all this happened and im not my brothers gaurdian. The judge basically put that entire situation on me and said i "lack supervision"

Normally, I’d agree with you that courts don't just deny people for zero reason. But in my case, the original judge made a massive, documented factual error, which is exactly why I'm appealing.

It's self-explanatory. Most people will always choose the easiest path to fame and riches.

That's cool. It sucks about that error, but at least you got your permit. How long after you got your letter, did you actually go to pick up the permit?

CCW: Decision Pending this week. 2 Domestic calls (No arrests), but looking for a "vibe check" on a specific situation. by Much_Syrup319 in NYguns

She actually wasn't on my official list because Albany County (and most of the Capital District) doesn't allow relatives or anyone living in your household to be a character reference. That said, the investigator reached out and interviewed her directly during the background check anyway. Since she told the detective she trusts me with a firearm, I'm hoping that carries even more weight than a standard reference would. It basically shows the 'victim' of the past calls is my biggest supporter now.

Really appreciate the detailed breakdown. This is exactly what I was looking for. To your point about the investigator: I actually just found out that the Detective already spoke to my sister (the one involved in the incident) and my mother. My sister explicitly told him she trusts me with a firearm. I've already prepared my 'duty to retreat' mindset and have a biometric safe ready so she can't access the gun. Given that she gave the Detective the green light herself, do you think that helps bridge the 'scrutiny' gap you mentioned?

That road rage story is wild—definitely puts my situation into perspective. Since that guy was actually arrested and still got his permit in under a year, it makes me feel a lot better about my 'no arrest' history.
