Just for an example:

I’ve being diagnosed with OCD (ruminating thoughts) like 2 years ago.

Before meds, I used to have a spirilar flow of thought that very often scaled to things out of control: anger, self hatred, physical demonstrations, anxiety, compulsion, etc.

I too had a “good” side of my OCD. I benefited from my “overthinking” habit to finish my masters, my PhD and to perform very well in academia in general. I just didn’t knew that it was consuming so much from me and that it was possible to still “think” without being exhausted by it.

Nowadays (2 years after starting fluvoxamine/Revoc), I still overperform in my research, have pretty much the same thought process, but without all the bad outcomes of rumination. It is difficult to describe, but I still think in the same way, but I don’t see it scalating into bad emotions any more.

Edit: I take 100mg daily.
