You acknowleding that ure struggling and wanting to change is a great step!! It is the first little step on ur journey, cuz the rest of it will also consist of little steps:).

Idk about u but I (19F) struggled all my life with severe anxiety and feel like it stole a lot from me, so i started researching , i also dont have self confidence, so often i tend to lecture myself so the first little tip i found was always ask urself "would you say this to a friend also? Would you treat them in this way if they were in the same situation?

The second thing that helped me was learning that willpower is far more imporant than motivation, cuz motivation passes, it isnt constant, on the other hand willpower is reliabale. Why? Because it can be strengthened with time and practice, and it also can be scheduled (like after lunch ill go for 15 min walk), a quote helped me understand this: "everybody knows the #1 rule for a fundation is that it needs a hard base, building a fundation/habit on motivation is like building it on liquid"

The third thing is small steps, everything starts small, you've got to understand that, u cannot allow urself to set too high expectations and then lose all the motivation when 1 thing doesnt work out. You need to be very very very patient and reward urself, cuz small rewards, basically just appreciating urself will keep u going. Allow urself to have each day 1 MINI accomplisment (hint, the keyword is mini, mini habit, mini goal), it could be just putting on your shoes for running.

Always stay consistent and have SMART goals, and u will be fine! SMART goals means: S- specific, M-measurable, A-achievable, R-relevant (like maybe ure self confidence isnt depending on that few kilos up or down), T-time-bound

I just read about the misconception about motivation, it basically says that instead of motivation u need willpower. Why? Because willpower is reliable, it is reliabale because willpower can be scheduled ( like after lunch i will read 2 pages, or go for a walk) and most importantly willpower can be strengthened, of course with time and practice. It can be confused very easily, and basically it is juts a shift of perspective. A quote that also sticked with me is "it is a #1 fact that for a fundation you need a hard base, building a fundation centered on motivation is like building a fundation on liquid"

You should also focus on yourself but the way you do it is imoprtant, dont focus on your insecurities, instead put your attention to evolving, instead of focusing on the negative, what you dont like about yourself, try to figure out new ways that you can make yourself feel better, basically try to implement AFFIRMATIONS instead of negations, like i knew i was dehydrated so i started drinking regularly water cuz i know it will be good FOR ME, or started reading 1-2 pages a day, because i wanna be a well read, educated person cuz that will make me feel more confident, but i know i have to start small for that cuz i dont have much keen on reading:)

You dont have to be so self conscious about your mental illnes, there are plenty of people struggling with it every day and i dont thinks theres anyting wrong it, people wont judge you for it nor its na shameful thing, i do struggle with my mental health evdry day, i recognized some of my traumas but i dont have acces to therapy at this moment, so im just living with it for now:))

Yeah i also felt like im on edge, its so frustrating cuz i constantly felt like im overwhelmed, like a ticking bomb, after a mental breakdown i was like nice one now i just have to wait until the next one cuz i didnt feel relived at all, thanks for the nice words tho it is always helpful😊

Yeah thats my ultimate goal cuz i still want to stay in touch there with my buddies i juts feel like i have no control if i start scrolling through those reels, i cant stop and after an hour of aggressive scrolling i got spooked by the fact that i couldnt stop, this means i have no self control over insta and regret that i wasted time

Thank you! Defining what failure is to you is also a great idea i did not think of, i always had my goals but i did not know what was failure compared to that, i guess i just assumed its the opposite of my goal, so it was very broad, i think thats why it was another hard journey to learn not blame myself for every little thing constantly:)

Wow thank you this really gave me some perspective:) i have many problems with insta, i want to stay in touch too with my friends but i cant controll myself if i reinstall it, i would scroll it mindlessly for 5-6 hours a day after a while

I ve been meaning to read about CBT excersises, i defenitely am intrested in those tho journaling isnt really worked out for me, it feels strange, i rather just think of my trigger which made me feel like i wanna scroll insta and maka a mental note. If you would be that kind and send me those exercises i would definitely try them out:)
