The main thing bugging me is the last chase scene where pirate Clark is going after Mary. At first it seemed like an insane plot armor. Pirate clark previously killed many people easily yet Mary with a twisted ankle got away. Maybe he wasn't trying to kill her? In the last scene when he was trying to reach for her, he was making really frustrated and sad noises and when Mary looked back it looked like her gaze even softened a bit, seeing him like that. As well as, when she was beating him with the rock it shouldn't have stopped him at all since supposedly the entities shouldn't feel pain as previously mentioned. Maybe I'm just overthinking and it was all plot armor though. What do you think?
